Hello Ladies, We have finally have had some rain.It has been so dry here in Ga. Last evening we had about 1 1/2 inches of rain. My garden is so happy. We have been watering the garden but it was only surviving, and now getting the much needed rain all the little plants were at attention this morning. Thank you God! I have been hearing the news about Arizona and the wild fires. Thinking of all the farm girls out west. Prayers for you all to be safe. Have a good night, Debra e

I know what you mean Debra. My Sister in N.C. has been waiting for the rains for a long time too. The rain clouds always just went around them.... but not a drop did they get. They just kept using their pond water. Finally, last night, they too got rain...2 1/2 inches of Glorious rain....Praise God! They are SO excited! I too am concerned about all of our farmgirls in Az. I pray all is well. All that heartache and loss and they think now it was caused by a careless person's camfire. How sad, truely sad! Good-nite girls!

Hey to all! It has been a while that I have posted. Life has been happening and I have been busy. The weather here in Ga. has been extremely hot and with no rain. I water the large garden that we have as much as I can but that only keeps the plants surving. Once in a while we get a "POP UP " shower but it always seems to miss this area.Today when I was driving home I was in a blinding rain. I couldn't believe how much water was on the main road and I was excited because I know there is nothing better than Mother Nature raining on the garden. Then when I got into our little area...It was like a curtain was drawn and NO rain on my side of the street! But again...I am able to water so I don't want to complain so much.
The other Life Happening is that my "MOM" has not been well. She has been struggling with her health. Mom Is 78 yrs old and a very young active 78 yr. old...but this summer she has had some health issues that has brought her down and is struggling to get back. My husband and I have been attentive to my her needs and that has taken up some "Farm Gal" computer time for me. I do want you all to know that I check when I get a e-mail saying that someone has posted. I enjoy reading what is happening on the farm. I see that we have some 20's 40's and still the 50 something "Farm Gals". You Go Girls. We all need each other in some way or another. Have a Great Rest Of The Week debra e

Debra, your Mom is in my Prayers. My Mom is an 83 year "young" person herself, so I know what you mean. God Blesses those who love and care for their parents! :)

Debra I jumped in at the end of this segment so never got to say "Welcome". Sorry it took me so long. I love your garden cabin. I am sorry to hear about your mom. The heat we are all in is hard on all of us but especially the elderly.I said a prayer for her also. |

Look what I put in the garden. Giant pinwheels! HUGE! I wanted some fun in the garden. And they are! My summer has been so hectic. As I stated before my mom's health has not been good and a lot of time and attention has been spent with her. It has become hard to keep up with all of our chores and her's too. Somedays are harder than others...and I am finding out that is mostly because of my attitude. So when I am in a negative, feel sorry for me,stomping my feet,Boo Hoo Boo Hoo mood...I go out and buy giant pin wheels!(the best part...They were 90% off) It's gonna be a great day
P.S. I want to thank all that have said prayers for her. She is on the up swing of things and that has lightened the load for me and my hubby! We are Blessed
Thanks y'all, debra, e

Do y'all want to know the stupid, stupid, careless thing I did???
My hubby and I were trimming bushes at my mom's.She has a lot of bushes in front of her house and we both had electric trimmers going. Stupidly I had taken the lock off the trimmers which lets the trimmers keep running when you take your finger off the trigger.(I was in a hurry and almost done) Went to move the cord out of the way and cut my finger. OUCH!!! and then cut the cord! Wasn't paying attenetion to what I was doing and not taking the percautions. (a lesson farm girls!)
P.S. Typing with one hand

Hey Judy, Actually it isn't deep but lacerated and bruised to the bone. Hubby was a gem. I had made it to my mom's kitchen to wrap the finger in a parper towel and to look at what happened. Next thing I knew I was spinning and sinking to the floor. (passed out)Hubby came to rescue. I am such a whimp when it comes to stuff like this on me...come at me with a white lab coat and a stethascope and I pass out. But if something is happening to someone else you can count on me.I can step right up. (I am a weenie for myself) Anyway... the finger is healing nicely. Hubby is keeping it wraped up for me and we are soaking it in a iodine solution. I have family in Beach City and Starsburg and they keep me posted on the Ohio weather. I know it has been sweltering there. I think your temps and weather is pretty comparable to ours in Ga. Stay cool and thanks for the Healing Hug,

I'm like that too. I can just jump in and do what needs do'in when it's another person. But come at me with a needle and I'm gone. hahahaha We ARE weenies!!! BUT we are MJFarmgirl weenies! That makes it totally acceptable! Also, I can deal with animal injuries better than human injuries...what's THAT about? lol I'm glad your Hubby is being sweet & helpful, Bless him.I've not been to Georgia in years, but I'd make the trip if I had too, just to open a can of "Whoop-Butt" on him!! teehee Take care of yourself my dear!

Hi Debra, I saw the picture of the pinwheels and I had to let you know how pretty they look. I am so sorry about your injury. I hate those electric trimmers. Whenever my husband is using ours I get a little worried that he will injure himself. You are right about injuries to animals and other people. I can really deal with them better than ones on myself.
The pinwheels have made my day brighter and I thank you for sending down some rain last evening and hope for some more today. Never thought I would be praying for rain.
Have a great day. Hugs,

No not yet! We were supposed to have rain and even storms last night...but none. It was cooler though this am.... but then as the day went on... whewww! it was a hot one. Hubby and I were working at mom's today. Poor hubby wanted to get the yard done and in this heat. He made it with lots of water. I saw that Ohio's weather was cooler and less humidity. Yippeee!

It's midnite and 67 and no humidity. We had lots of hearty breezes all day, must have blown the moisture out. No complaints here, that's for sure!

We had a cooler day yesterday and hopefully it will be cooler today. No rain yesterday. The humidity is high today so maybe.... We went to Jacksonville to shop and it was a lot warmer there but air conditioned in the Costco where we were. I hope you get some rain up there in GA, Debra. Glad things are good for you, Judy. 67 degrees, aaaaaah! How nice!!
