After months and months of decline and extremely poor health we are taking Tibbitts to the Vet in the morning to be euthanized.
This picture above was taken when she was at her peak of good health.
We are going to miss her very much---So long old gal...
Thank you ladies for all of the comforting posts.
It was probably one of the hardest things I have ever had to do. I maintained composure until the Vet came into the exam room. My DH stayed with me-He is such a softy when it comes to creatures great and small and insisted on the way over that he would have to remain in the lobby until it was all over so I was very glad that he stayed with us. My vet was so very good and very professional. He grabbed a hold of me for a moment and held me. Tibbitts barely lifted her head during the entire time. She was very good. It took no time at all before it was over and for the first time in a long time she looked comfortable and at peace. This spring we will bury her under the plum tree that I can see when I look out my kitchen window.

Melody, I am so sorry for your pain. It is difficult to say good bye to our special pals like Tibbitts and releasing them from their pain. I'll be thinking of you at this tough time.

My sympathies are with you Melody. I know how hard it is to say goodbye to a dear and devoted friend and member of the family. I've had to do it a few times myself and it never is easy. Sending hugs your way!!!

Melody, Thought and prayers going out to you. It's so very hard to make this choice. Tibbitts was a very beautiful kitty. This picture will be a wonderful keepsake for years to come. Farm girl hugs for a hard time.
