Hello all,

Yes, I know my locations says Chandler AZ, but my heart is in the pacific northwest. I have a lot of family in Sultan WA (highway 2, just east of Everette) and I LOVE the rain. :) I don't get much of that here in AZ. Of course what I get here is 65 and sunny in the winter. :)

My dream of dreams is to have about 10-15 acres in the northwest with horses, goats, possibly chickens and no office job. I am currently taking my yoga teacher training (I started a chat in the Heath sections for yoga) and practicing/teaching yoga on green acres sounds like heaven to me!!

Anyone else from the northwest or love it there like I do? Keep dreamin ladies! We all will make it.

Hello HDA,

My aunt lives near Portland on the WA side of the river. I love going to visit her! Now to just convince my husband rain is good! :O)

My uncle has 15 acres up near Sultan WA and I love to ride horses with my younger cousin. I truely want horses! :)

Thanks for the post. If I can make it up to Portland I will let you know and we can meet somewhere for yoga! :)

We live in Buckley. You can HAVE the rain. I am so tired of it right now. We are supposed to get 5- 10 INCHES in the next 24 hours. I expect to float away at any moment. No gardening outside right now. But the tomatoes have sprouted in the kitchen window. So there's hope?? =)

Do what you love, love what you do.

I love the Pacific Northwest too, even though I'm from IL. It is beautiful and very diverse out there. I can see why you dream of returning. I hope your dream is realized soon!

I always camped on the Pacific Northwest. I'm from the bay area in CA originally, and always loved that drive past Eureka, the Samoa Dunes, the Redwoods...so crisp and refreshing!

Angela-I drive by Banks all the time on the way to the coast!

Angie-I know what you mean about all the rain right now! I'm doing the "kitchen window gardening" right now too! In between rain storms I go out & try & get something done outside, but it is so soggy & muddy still!

I'm on the other end of Phoenix valley in Tonopah. I also have rainwater in my veins from being born/bred Oregonian :)

I am from Coos Bay originally, and lived in Salem from 2005-2009. I can't wait to get back there, and I'm actually starting to think about where in Oregon/Washington/Idaho I'd want to live to set up my homestead. The sun here in Phoenix is nice for my older animals arthritis, and the long growing season, but I've had so many trees and plants die in the parch >_<
And of course there's the longing for woods and rain! The only time I ever get a decent rain out my way flash floods abound and I'm certain to lose power from anywhere between 4 hours to 2 days.
