For those of you who remember my stories about Elvis, our Hereford Bull, I had to say goodbye to him Sunday. At eight years old, he's getting up there in age for a breeding bull, and it was past time to either sell him, from a practical business standpoint. I just hate it when practical business clashes so hard with the heart. I'm gonna miss him, especially when I hang out my sheets he so loved to play in. He did go to a good farm with lots of 'women' for him to court, which is a good thing, but if I'm not mistaken, the farmer only wanted him for one breeding season. But, I'm not gonna think that far ahead. Ladies, wish him luck. I'm really gonna miss him.

Just saw this, Julie...so sorry about Elvis. You just never know, that farmer may fall head over heels for his personality, just the way you did, and keep him around.
I know it must be so tough and your heart smarts a bit. Just always think about what a loving, wonderful home he had and how much he lit up your day. I love that image of him in the hanging sheets--stinker.

So sorry you had to say goodbye to Elvis. I know how hard it'll be to not see him.

Ladies, I can't say thanks enough for your sentiments. It is hard losing a pet -- and let's face it, Elvis was my pet, even if he did weigh in over 2,000 lbs. So do me a favor, please. In honor of Elvis, please go give your own pet (or pets) a really big hug for me. If I can't hug him, at least I can (virtually) hug every pet out there! Thanks again, ladies. It means a lot to know y'all are all out there!
