So yesterday I was making home-made lemonade (so yummy, by the way) and I was at the sink adding water...and those UGLY hard-water build up stains on the STAINLESS steel sink were glaring at me. I glared back. Then, I remembered that lemons are acidic... and I had a ton of leftover squeezed lemon halves. I have tried EVERYTHING, so, out of curiosity I squeezed some lemon juice out of an already squeezed lemon half all over the stains then scrubbed it with the lemon half then just let the juice and pulp sit on there awhile. I finished making my lemonade and put it in the fridge. THEN, I went back to the sink. It appeared that the stains were gone, so I dampened a rag and wiped it clean... I JUMPED FOR JOY... OH LEMONY SNICKETS!!! THE STAINS ARE GONE!!!!!!! YAY!

It does work really well I agree! My Mother-in-law from Germany does the same all the time. She also does it to help keep drains in the sink from getting smelly. Oh what nature's power provides for us in the simplest ways!!

Any idea what will get iron stains out of a toilet? I have tried toilet bowl cleaners, Bar Keeper's Friend, KaBoom, Comet, Lime Away, & vinegar with no luck.

Hi Dawn, I tried writing you a reply, but since I am very new at all this chat room stuff, my reply went into its own heading in the 'cleaning up' forum. Hope I helped you!

Yay! Lemons are so wonderful, aren't they? Their uses are never-ending, it seems!
