Does anyone else have one of these? I can't believe I waited so long to get one. My Viking machine is about 15 years old, so when I finally learned about this wonderful attachment they were almost impossible to find for my machine. God Bless eBay!!! I am happily making ruffles for a skirt today, and have plans to ruffle up some aprons in the near future. I would love to hear your thoughts on this little wonder!

I bought one for my machine a few years ago when I was duplicating a vintage petticoat for a friend. This was 9-or-10 tiers of ruffles, each one gathered onto the one above. The bottom hem ended up over 1100 inches. VERY glad not to have to do that by hand!!! Also glad to have the rolled hem attachment for that project . . .
If you are trying to gather a specific length down to another specific length, it is difficult to figure out what settings to use; but if a random outcome is acceptable it can save you many, many hours over hand gathering/pleating. |

I looked into getting one several years ago, but at the time decided against it. The sales lady couldn't tell me how to figgure out how even the ratios and nobody else seemed to know either. Basical they told me to "just sew." Since I didn't have the information at the time, that just wasn't good enough. I did buy the rolled hem attachment though--love it!

I had so much fun with my ruffler the other evening - I was looking for other things to ruffle besides the flounce and trims for the dress I am making! I think I might use some strips of vintage feedsack and ruffle me up a 1/2 apron as well. You most definitely need one, Elizabeth!!
