Once in awhile our local market has a really good deal on cream pints that are about to expire. Sometimes as low as .25. Can you freeze cream? I have frozen milk but never tried cream.

Some might say yes, but I bought some Horizon Organic Half and Half on extreme clearance and froze it, and well, thawing it out completely separated it and there were floaties, so it wasn't my favorite thing...I'm not sure why Half and Half wouldn't freeze well, since milk does, but maybe it's the fat content in the cream part?

I freeze cream and half and half all the time. When it goes on sale, I snatch it up because I like to make cream scones and my husband likes it in his coffee and tea. I have found that it all depends on the brand as to whether it separates or not. But if it does, I just throw it in the blender and blend it ever so carefully. Otherwise, you end up with butter!! :-)
