Farmgirl Sisters,

Since I found MJF and the sisterhood a month ago, a spark has been renewed in me. I have always had a difficult time connecting to other women. It's like they just did not get me. As I read posts on the farmgirl connection, I finally feel like I've found the women I was always meant to hang with. Thanks so much! Can't wait to see what's next.

You guys have inspired me to start a blog. I finally have an outlet for those farmgirl thoughts in my head.

Welcome Danielle from the North Georgia Mountains, where we are having a glorious day today.
I really enjoyed reading your blog - loved the simplicity one, where you are watching birds, and enjoying life on your farm. Doesn't get much better than that!

I thought I was odd but I am not cause everyone here is just like me. I kept thinking and feeling very sad that I do not have friends that think and feel the way I do. I put off subscribing to MJF for a couple years but now I have found the women friends that I so longed to have.
Welcome Danielle

I loved your blog. I read mjf for a very long time without ever joining. I got recipes, photo ideas, cleaning ideas, but stayed OUTSIDE. I was a city girl, who married a farmer. I have never gotten along with women. I was lonely, busy, and hugely popular. All those relationships were superficial. I even chose not to invite many of my friends over, because I was on a farm!! Oh how foolish was I? In no time, the farm gets into your blood, even your soul. How wonderful to shake the city pollution off my high heels, and get mud in my boots! I'm living participating unsteady of observing MJF. Hope you continue to as well.

The tears I shed then, watered the flowers I harvest now.

Hi I total agree with you. Allot of women today dont think or even understand what its like to be earthy or natural. It has always been hard for me also to connect with other women. So I am glad to meet a fellow siter who likes what I like

Red Gate Gal! I love your blog. I could just hear that coworker telling you to "get a life"... and knew how you felt as the realization was welling up inside. You have the life!!!!

I absolutely thrive on the simple pleasures of life. I have my Nana's old glider on the front porch of the big red barn I call home. I sit out there having coffee with the love of my life, watching the birds eat out of my old wheelbarrow, looking at my flowerbeds and wondering what to plant next. This is living!!

Farmgirls,
Thanks for the warm welcome and the continued encouragement regarding my blog.

Sandy- You sound as though you live the same porch life we do. Oh how I love my rockers. We started out with wicker chairs and while on an anniversary weekend getaway, my honey bought 2 rockers for our porch. So I pray that 30 years from now we'll still be rocking in those chairs having mastered the simple life.

Welcome, Danielle! You are among friends here. I've found the thing that distinguishes MJF from other "down to earth" publications and forums is that everyone is a farmgirl in her own way. Dianne in the Hudson Valley
