Anyone cleaning out their sewing closets- or maybe a loved ones? I'm looking for vintage sewing patterns from the 30's to the 50's. Don't throw them away!

Every now and then I spot one in a Thrift for a $1 but they are getting to be harder to find...and the Antique shops are selling them at a premium....
I have some vintage 40's-60's patterns that i just luv... I have photo copied the covers for crafting projects.
They are great for 'dateing' vintage garments too.

I have found many of my vintage patterns on ebay. Sometimes you can get them at a very good price!

O, a trouble's a ton or a trouble's an ounce,
Or a trouble is what you make it!
And it isn't the fact that you're hurt that counts,
But only--how did you take it?

I only have 2 patterns that I found at a thrift store for 75 cents. I haven't tried ebay. I keep looking at thrift stores but haven't found any lately.

I am doing a program for a group I belong to on how sizes have changed through the years. Would it be possible for someone that has vintage patterns from the 30s to the 60s let me know the measurements for a Size 10. Also, the sizes indicated on the pattern range (say, size 10 to size 18) Thanks, ladies. I really appreciate it.

HI,

I have some older patterns listed in my etsy store - in the process of destashing my sewing room. They are probably fro the 70s but the size (back of pattern) is shown so you might be able to get measurements from there.

If not, shoot me an email and I will look on it for you.

The store is HugsandStitches

Bensgrandma - Thank you for the information. I was able to get the information from the back of your pattern and I'll definitely use this information in my discussion. Thanks again.

Susan - Glad to be of help. Let me know if you want me to scan any of them in so you can copy the front covers if you can't do it from my etsy site. I can't beleive I actually fit into those clothing sizes!
