I am thinking about subscribing to either Mother Earth News or GRIT, which of these magazines do you all prefer and what is the difference for you? Thanks, Ruth

I think MEN is a bit glossier and probably more fun to read. But Grit is more detailed, it seems. I think their articles are specific to small farms where MEN can also fit into an urban household. I am not sure that helps, just my thoughts . . . Marianne |

I get both, but like Grit better. It is more about old time skills and self sufficiency.

Thanks Diane and Marianne, I'm still on the fence as I'm really not sure what I'm looking for! We are getting chickens in the Spring, and have a very small garden. That is about it for us as "farmers"! I like recipes, gardening, etc. Hugs, Ruth

I just got something in the mail today from Grit for a free trial issue. I think I'll get it. Maybe you could see if they would just send you a free issue to see if you'd like it.
