We are just having a nice lazy day here at home. The girls are getting ready to go down for a nap, and while they are sleeping Hal is going to work on building a network server for the computers here. (His favorite hobby is building computers)

After that we are going out to Hals dads house to celebrate with him too.

I sure did. While you can still edit things after someone has posted behind you on the same thread, you can't delete it, so due to me being eager to strike up a friendly conversation today I figured I'd better change it to something we could talk about without conflict.

Funerals always bring a person down, I'm sorry you have to go to one today. I sure hope your fathers day festivites are still enjoyable!

you can be oh so smart, or you can be oh so positive. I wasted a lot of time being smart I prefer being positive.

Honey Hunk and I lounged around in the hammock most of the morning .. (after some gardening) .. (mulched all my gardens today! )

The hammock was so pleasant and serene .. just being there together, eyes closed, listening to all the forest sounds. We both fell asleep ... with a nice breeze blowing over us.

i decided to 'fire up' the fire pit and cook some sausages and fresh veggies in my cast iron pans .. while hank took a bike ride. (he's trying to get a few hours in every day in anticipation of his 500-mile bike trip come next Friday. He'll be in the southern part of Virginia for about a week. About 1,000 bicyclists meet and travel from town to town on back country roads. I think this is Hank's 15th year or so!

YUMMMMM .. everything came out reeeeeel good .. but just as it was finished .. the sky turned dark .. and i knew the clouds were going to open up and pour forth! Hoped Hank wasn't somewhere .. where there was no shelter .. he is still not home yet! Luckily .. there has been no thunder and lightening! So .. my guess is that he is just enjoying riding in the rain! Hustled inside with the 'hot pots' ... and baked some 'home-made-from-scratch-biscuits' (in the oven!)

I also painted a couple 'yard tables' .. so that we can enjoy an early morning breakfast, lazy lunch and twilight suppers here and there around 'the farm'. Living here is like always being on vacation .. in the woods! We just LOVE Kentucky living!

and .. of course .. called my dad to tell him happy father's day and that i love him! xo

Frannie -

We have the same thing here, it is called "Bike Oregon". 1000 bicyclists get together and travel the back roads of Oregon. It is a big deal.

Funny thing, while I was reading your post, DH came over and decided to read over my shoulder. He was at the paragraph where you talk about YUMMMMM .. everything came out reeeeeel good, he was even doing it in a southern accent. Sometimes he can be a real smart#*#, if you know what I mean. Then he asked who is Honey Hunk? Then I had to explain you and Hank and Hank's mountain climbing trip and what you look like, etc. He is still trying to figure out this whole farmgirl thing.

Anyway, sounds like you had a nice afternoon. I just got back from seeing my parents down in Woodburn (35 miles south of Portland). Dad was watching the World Cup, big soccer fan he is. Mom showed me her wonderful garden and we had sour apple martini's and watched the humming birds. Nice visit.
