Lori, welcome. I have four chickens and call them "Ladies" also. That is too funny. When I let them out of their pen in the evenings they sometimes follow me around the yard. I enjoy them very much.

Hi, Lori. We used to have chickens. One was named Peep; the other Shothead. Anyway, we had to get rid of them because they lived in the barn and roosted in the rafters and pooped on the horse hay. Peep went to my sister-in-law and lived many more years. Shothead got eaten. I wish I could have a few to eat worms and bugs and such, but don't want the you-know-what on my hay. So I am jealous of your "Ladies!"

hi lori, i wrote yesterday about my hen house called the "egg palace", i sell my eggs and the egg palace is just that. it has a south facing long window with a valance i made out of " chicken wire" print fabric, and pictures of their parents and gr. parents on the wall, i found them years ago now in country living mag. i framed them. there are more pictures , packing box labels with chickens on them, and a neat hanging feeder that my daughter from oklahoma sent me that she painted on the front " eat more beef" then on the back side its says " a message from the egg council" so funny. there is a shelf in there too with stuff on it, an old sign that says lodging, we have guest cabins and gardens so lots of folks come and tour the gardens and see the chickens and their house, and its funny but they all love to feed them. i had a pet chicken named Mabel. i loved her, but she died. i've always had chickens for years now. 35 or more. couldnt do without my chickens! Now can anyone tell me how to post on this with my page like lori did. so new i don't know how? thanks nita, at pine creek gardens.
