I ordered a few books from our library, but wanted to ask those who are already raising dairy goats. Do you have book title suggestions? Also, for raising meat chickens? Thanks. I'm just trying to prepare for this coming spring.
The best books I have found out there for this type of information are Storey's Guide to Raising Dairy Goats, Storey's Guide to Raising Chckens, Storey's Guide to Raising.......... You get the idea. I have the Dairy Goat, Chicken, Poultry, Pig, and Meat Goat books all of wich are full of great information except the poultry one it is a waste of money. The chicken one is great for chickens and so I bought the poultry one being we wanted to try our hand at turkeys. There wasn't really any new information in it that wasn't in the chicken book.
I have quite a few books on raising dairy goats that i have collected through he years but the ones that I like best are "Raising Milk Goats Successfully" by Gail Luttman and the above mentioned Storey's Guide to Raising Dairy goats as well as "Goat Husbandry" by David Mackenzie. I subscribe to Dairy Goat Journal, they have good husbandry information and lot of archived aticles on thier website, you should also look up Fias.Co Farms for great husbandry information online.
