I've seen this every winter for a while but for those of you who haven't it may bring a smile. Susan
Okay! All of you wondering how us Minnesotans can handle this cold weather will wonder no more. Here is how it's done.
THOSE HEARTY MINNESOTANS
60 degrees above zero: Floridians turn on the heat People in Minnesota plant gardens 50 degrees above zero: Californians shiver uncontrollably People in Duluth sunbathe 40 degrees above zero: Italian and Japanese cars wont start People in Minnesota drive with the windows down 32 degrees above zero: Distilled water freezes the water in Bemidji gets thicker 20 degrees above zero: Georgians don coats, thermal underwear, gloves and wool hats People in Minnesota throw on a flannel shirt 15 degrees above zero: New York landlords finally turn up the heat People in Minnesota have the last cookout before it gets cold zero: All the people in Miami die People In Minnesota close the windows 10 degrees below zero: Californians fly away to Mexico People in Minnesota get out their winter coats 25 degrees below zero: Hollywood disintegrates The Girl Scouts in Minnesota sell cookies door to door 40 degrees below zero: Washington DC runs out of hot air People in Minnesota let the dogs sleep indoors 100 degrees below zero: Santa Clause abandons the North Pole People in Minnesota get upset when they can't start the Mini-Van 460 degrees below zero: ALL atomic motion stops (absolute zero on the Kelvin scale). People in Minnesota start saying..."cold 'nuff fer ya?" 500 degrees below zero: Hell freezes over Minnesota public schools will open 2 hours late
So don't ever let anyone tell you we can't handle the winters in Minnesota. STAY WARM EVERYONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How true is that...we are indeed a tough bunch. A few cold days make us appreciate the warm days so much more. And each cold day is one day closer to spring!!!

That was SO funny, Susan! I about died laughing at "zero" and all the other "belows!" It's a frigid 19 degrees here near Pittsburgh with the windchill coming in at God-only-knows-how-low... But you know what they say about Pittsburghers - cold nose, warm heart! :) Keep warm! - Nini

So true Susan. I'm not from Minnesota, but MOST of us here in Wisconsin are pretty tough (I say most because the cold is really hard on my Mom's joints). But I wouldn't trade my snow for sun any day! Keep warm everyone! God's and Holiday's Blessings, Megan aka Loretta Rae

I must admit I'm a wimpy Texan. We were only in the upper 50s today and we thought it was freezing!

Me, too! Seriously, I have NO IDEA how you guys handle that. Now, granted, I keep my house at about 63-65 in the winter and my friends come over wearing coats and requesting quilts when they visit, so at least I am not one of those folks that have to keep the thermometer on 78 like some people I know!

Looks like snow is heading our way again tomorrow. Then again next week. I don't know about this. It's just SO cold. I cannot get my house warm enough.

Ohhh Sherone ! Having lived in Rock Springs I sympathize ! What most who have never lived in SW Wyo dont know about is the WIND CHILL.. -17 in NW Colo can't compare with that darn wind. I remember how 3 or 4 inches of snow could close I80 . There would be total white outs. Susan |

Very, very funny!
Cold here-Gosh you would think after all of these years in the Great North Woods I would be accustomed to this, but it is COLD tonight-We are at a BALMY 16-degrees right now....Thank goodness there isn't a breeze coming of the bay!
Stay warm farmgirls...
