I haven't been around in a while. We've been super busy with the chickens, kids, 4-H, etc.
I finally got something posted to my blog and thought I'd share. There is a yummy recipe my grandmother used to make at the end of the post. Hope you enjoy it!
OMGosh Tanna...I read your blog and when I got to ...."cuss at the pan".....and must use....."the correct cuss-word"....I burst out loud with laughter. How funny! That cake sounds so yummy! I may have to try it. I only have 2 cake pans though....hmmmmm....may have to go borrow one of Mama's pans. Thanks for the recipe.

This is my favorite cake! I've seen two different names for it. Our Aunt Erma calls it Arkansas Razorback Pig-Eatin' Cake. Barbara Mandrell calls it a Pig-Pickin' Cake. Either way, it means bar-be-que down South. It's an amazing cake, full of different wonderful flavors. I was given the recipe instructions calling for a 9x13, so I don't have to cuss to get it out of the pan! But whatever works... Isn't it wonderful to find a treasure like that? An to find it in her own handwriting, that's especially heartwarming.

Can't wait to try this recipe!! Next time I get to town I am going to get the stuff to make it! (I just gave my last can of mandarin oranges to my kids with their lunch before I read this! Go figure!!) Thanks for sharing! I think I may try like Melina and use a 9x13 pan. We'll see!!

I'd like to try the 9x13 too but I'm afraid my family would not know what to think. Oh well..My kids would like it either way. Guess I could try it out on them first!
