I came across this video and wanted to share. Read the unique story behind the song.

A new song...

As the Christmas season is quickly approaching it’s important that

We teach our children and grandchildren about the true meaning of the

Season. This video does it as well as anything I’ve seen. It moved

Me and I hope it moves you.

Here’s the story behind the song:

About the Song

While at the mall a couple of years ago, my then four year old nephew,

Spencer, saw kids lined up to see Santa Claus. Having been taught as a

Toddler that Christmas is the holiday that Christians celebrate the

Birth of Jesus, he asked his mom, "where's the line to see Jesus"? My

Sister mentioned this to my dad, who immediately became inspired and

Jotted words down to a song in just a few minutes. After putting music

To the words, and doing a quick recording at home, he received a great

Response from friends. He sent the song off to Nashville without much

Response, except for a Christian song writer who suggested adding a

Bridge at the end of the first chorus. My dad then asked if I wanted to

Record the song to see what we could do with it. I listened to the

Song, made a few changes to the words to make it flow better, and we

Headed to Shock City Studios. It was at the studio where Chris, owner

And producer, rewrote the 2nd verse and part of the chorus... with

Goosebumps and emotions high, we were all hopeful and felt like we had

Something special. The demo was recorded in just under 2 hours and sent

Off again to Nashville .... still no response. Then 2 weeks before

Christmas last year, my cousins Greg and Robbie decided to do a video

To see what we could accomplish on YouTube. The first day we had 3000

Hits and it soared from there. We received e-mails, phone calls,

Facebook messages from people all over asking for the music, CD's,

ITunes, anything... we had nothin'. After a couple of meetings with

Chris following the amazing response, we got serious. We headed back

Into the studio this past spring... this time with guitars, drums,

bass, pianos, choirs... the real deal.... and here we are today.

Getting iTunes set up, a website put together, and loving that

Thousands upon thousands of Christians have come together...

Remembering the true meaning of Christmas. Out of the mouths of babes

Come profound truths that many adults can not understand. Hopefully

Spencer's observation will cause people all over to reflect on the love

Of Jesus, and that one day we will all stand in line to see Him. We are

Most thankful to our Heavenly Father to have this chance to share our

Music with you. Merry Christmas everyone.

And one more for good measure...One of my favorite songs,
Mary, Did You Know?

Happy to be a "Raggedy Ann" in a Barbie World!

I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.

Diane - I can't thank you enough for this post. I just listened to the song. Profound. I have always thought this way, and I am so grateful that that little child inspired this beautiful song. It's so true. And this couldn't have come at a better time. If you can believe it, the other day, my 10-year-old GODSON asked me why I had a Cross in my bedroom. That question led to a revelation: he knew about Jesus, but he never knew Christmas was Jesus' birthday! He had so many questions, and my son and I were so happy and honored to be the ones who shared the message of Christ and the meaning of Christmas with him. At the end he said, "I'm so happy about this!" It made me cry. I just took for granted that he knew. He said that he had always loved the books about God I have given him over the years, and they had always made sense to him, but now he really understood. He really was happy!

I am going to share this "gift" with everyone this year! Merry Christmas - and God Bless You! - Nini

Thanks for sharing Diane! It was so pretty! I think sometimes we get too wrapped up in the commercialism of Christmas that we forget that we're supposed to be celebrating a new light in the world, Jesus! Yes, Santa and presents fit in there somewhere, but that's not all that Christmas is about!

I agree - it is happening to me. I miss the simple uncomplicated joy that Christmas used to be. The commercialism and secularism that is so mainstream right now is really unappealing to me. Simply Jesus is a perfect Christmas for me.

Ok, something's going on today. A friend sent me an email a few minutes ago, with a link to this same song...then I came here to see what's new, and find this thread about the same thing!

Where I work there's a children's activity area, and I put out some colouring sheets of nativity scenes, for the kiddies to work on. A little boy came to me this morning and asked if he could take some home! I was so happy. It's true, we have to keep the holiday in perspective.

And yes, I am wishing people Merry Christmas, too!
