We have never reserved it for any other cooking either. After roasting organic fed/free range chickens, I am stumped on disposing? We can't just dump it somewhere outside, the dogs get into it. We've always tossed it in the trash pick up. Just wondering if there are other ways to use it and dispose of it.

I would not compost it, but what about using it in suet for the birds? Or, mix it in home made dog bisquits? Carol

I agree- I wouldn't compost it. I usually will drizzle it on my dog's food for a couple of days- not too much or their stomachs can get upset. I don't think there is anything wrong with using chicken fat in cooking as long as it is very fresh and kept cold. They use duck fat in cooking all the time.
