I wanted those who were ever stationed at Camp LeJeune N.C. anytime during 1957 to 1985 to please go to this website to learn more. www.tftptf.com The USMC has been contacting people the past few years to let them know about the dangerous water contamination during this time. There were at last count over 1,900 babies still born or died shortly after birth during this time with numerous problems. There are also many grown ups dieing with childhood luekemia, many men with breast cancer and the children who were born during that time or people stationed there have had numerous types of cancer related to these toxins. In one water well TCE and PCE were at terribly high levels. Not to be over <5ppb it has been found to be from 100 to 280ppb and even higher. One spot was over 18,000ppb! Over 70 contaminants have been found. The wells were found to be contaminated in 1981 but the wells were not shut down until 1985 and it was still years later before they let anyone know about the toxic water. Everything from millions of gallons of fuel spills, mustard gas, benzene ect. The USMC wants everyone to register that lived there. They have started a new study to find which toxins cause which cancers. The above website has all the documentation and timelines available. We drank this water, bathed in it, cooked with it and washed out clothes in it. If you know of anyone who may have lived there during this time please contact them. Thanks so much!

So sorry about your Grandfather Alee. A bill was passed into law a couple years ago where the USMC was supposed to contact people but I found out from a stranger and I've met many that don't know. With the contamination so widespread I'd say there are many who don't know yet. Only a 160,000 people have registered with the USMC to receive info but up to 1,000,000 people passed thru that camp during this time.
