I have some lovely vintage jewelry that I would like to photograph with my digital camera. I want to list it in my etsy store. However, every time I try, the pics come out fuzzy. I know that there is some setting that I need to set the camera on for close-up shots. For the life of me, I can't figure it out.

Naturally, I turn to my farmgirls. :o) Anyone have nay ideas?

Hi Sherone -

What kind of a digital camera are you using? Mine is a Kodak, and there is a little button with a tulip (for close-ups) and a mountain (for panoramic) shots. Take a look and see if you have anything like that on your camera.

Good luck!

Do you have a micro setting? Also try outside in indirect light without the flash. ;o)

Sherone,
Here's a little info on close up photography of small objects http://curbly.com/erinmanning/posts/3635-macro-photography-it-s-the-little-things-that-count
And here's some info on making an inexpensive light box http://curbly.com/DIY-Maven/posts/6296-how-to-make-an-inexpensive-collapsible-light-box
If you look over at http://www.oneprettything.com/ look at categories and go down to crafty reading roundup-lots of good info there. Also the crafty business resources, its on the right hand side near the top of the home page, has a couple of articles on product photography.

Have fun!
Kathy
