HAPPY NEW YEAR to all us "over 50's" Farm Girls who are showing the world that we still have what it takes - if not better than we were before. We aren't our parents generation any more - we're out there doing exciting things and not sitting on a rocking chair on the front porch - although that's rather nice in the summer time when I can watch the sun rise or sun set on top of my mountain.

Cheers to all of us!!!!

So many of you are still youngsters. I feel ancient chatting on here but I see a few my age. I'll be 71 this month and as long as I don't look in the mirror I don't feel it. I still feel young at heart even though my other half and I have 9 children, was 11, between us and 34 grandchildren and hubby has two great grandchildren. I still garden, both flower and veggie and have chickens, quail and parakeets, canaries and finches. Planting in the high desert is a challenge but I'm getting the hang of it. I also knit, crochet, quilt, love to read and work part time for a magazine. I also have a 14 year old German Shepherd.

Hi Mary! And early Happy Birthday.
My friend I was talking about earlier turned 54 yesterday. We treated her to a pedicure! We had so much fun making each other laugh and telling funny stories.

Well, hello Judith of Elgin, Ohio, I'm Judy of Louisville,Ohio. Welcome? Glad you found that magazine. That's how a lot of us got started. Where's Elgin? Louisville is 10 miles east of Canton. God Bless You for being a 20 year survivor. We are EXTRA happy to have you here!!! Enjoy the site. So much to share and learn!

Welcome Vicki!

There are many Farm sisters who live close to you. I live north of Spokane. Have some friends from LaCrosse(both of whom have passed away), but their place is owned by their daughters who visit there often. You live in a beautiful part of Washington State. Of course...I think most of the state is wonderful.

Hey Judy from Louisville, OH! Elgin is a dinky town in Van Wert Co, less that 20 mi from the Indiana line. My hubby works for a company out of Dalton which I think is close to you, so we get over there every year for the company Christmas party, usually in Canton or Akron. By the way, I'm also known as Judy. Thanks for the kind welcome!

I'm 52 and never been happier! I am having the best school year teaching ever, because I have incredible students and am primarily teaching art which is my passion! I'm energetic and active and mostly still feel like I'm 22, but occasionally I'll have to admit that getting out of bed in the morning isn't as easy!

Do your part for art!
