Thank you all my Sisters. I am sitting here the night before Thanksgiving and feeling so down in the dumps. My kids are all going elsewhere tomorrow and I am left alone. Well I invited a young single woman friend of mine to come over as she had no place to go and little family. It just is disappointing that the kids made plans on my first Thanksgiving with out my dear husband. I can't blame our daughter, she is an RN and must work so she can have Christmas off. I am missing my dear husband so very much. I just ask your prayers once again. For peace to grow in me. For strength to go on alone. And for God's plans for me to be revealed. I also ask for my heart to be opened to His calling.

I am so thankful for each of my new Sisters that have opened their arms wide open to accept a wayward widow into their world. God bless you and keep you. I pray for your day to be filled with gratitude and blessings.

hugs.... Kristy

kristy...sending you love and hugs today....i feel so selfish by my post about being alone- when mine is by choice- yours was imposed by God in your loss..... you are strong and you know that there are weak moments...you came to the farm for your sisters love and caring- i am privileged to be the first to offer it this morning!

my own kids and grands live 500 miles away so spending tyoday with them was not possible...however, i can feel your sadness in not being with your kids....

email me if you'd like to talk.....

Kristy, I'm so sorry about your first Thanksgiving alone! I hope that your friend was able to come and spend the day with you. I was out of town and just now got on the computer and saw your post!
Please know that you are in my prayers as you go through this first Holiday season alone. My friend just stopped by, she lost her husband 3 years ago and her first year of "firsts" were so hard for her, which is totally understandable. My daughter was also widowed at 36 years old and had two little kids. She is doing great and so are her children, but it was not an easy road. I have been through being alone, because my first husband decided to leave me after 27 years of marriage. It was the hardest time in my life, but a time of searching within myself, growing in the Lord, and really just resting in Him! The Lord has brought me a wonderful man, and we will celebrate 15 years of marriage next month! I was alone for many years, but once I learned to be "alone" I was comfortable with it. I did work full time and had a house and yard to care for, one doggy and one kitty, so I was busy. I was very involved in church and with my girls and their families, as well as friends.
Please just know that it will get better in time. Try to reach out to others that need you, because you have so much to give. You will have a ministry with other ladies as they walk the path you are now walking.
with many hugs and prayers,
Ruth

Hello Sisters !
Please forgive me for not posting this earlier. I ended up having a blessed Thanksgiving ! I did have the younger single woman over for the day. I cooked the traditional Thanksgiving meal for us. Actually fixed way to much, but have leftovers for the freezer and a care package for her. It was great to keep busy and not find myself wallowing my my pain of missing my husband. My son and DIL surprised us and came walking in the door saying... Momma Im home ! Yeah ! We had a wonderful visit and somehow we ate again before they had to head home. I finally crawled in bed about 11 after giving much thanks to God for His blessings and getting me through what I thought was going to be a terrible day ! Thank you all for your emails and your concern. I am so blessed by each of you and so thankful for Mary Jane and MJF Connection. I have already been accepted in a chapter here in Kansas and look forward to getting involved and getting to know more of you !!!
Hugs and gratitude..
Kristy

I understand how you feel and am so glad that the Lord answered all the prayers for you for Thanksgiving. I lost my husband in 06 and was a walking basket case for quite a while. Big hugs and know that now Jesus is your husband now as God is a father to the fatherless. Hugs. Cherime

Hello my sisters ! Yes...God is good. I have been so blessed this week. By friends coming over to spend the day with me. Through emails from several of you and your messages here. Counting my blessings not my fears. He will show me a new way of walking the rest of this journey called life, without my loving husband physically at my side. I know he walks with our Lord and they are both with me every step I take and every breath I breathe. I stand on "I can do ALL things through Christ who strengthens me " Phil.4:13. It does not say some things it says... ALL !! I had a bit of a breakthrough this weekend. I am an artist and I have not been able to do any artwork since my husbands passing in July. He was my biggest cheerleader and the last year together we were together 24/7. Even through his many hospital stays I would take some of my artsupplies with me and do them from my cot in his room. He would always tell me... OH Honey...that's my new favorite ! Lol ! God love him. Anyway, this past weekend I just felt the need to do some creating. My muse has returned and it felt Soooooooo... good ! Smiling tonight as I write this post.

Thank you all for your prayers, messages and emails!!You Rock..as my 3 year old granddaughter says !! lol !!
God bless...
Hugs..
Kristy

Thank you Sistas ! Yes my muse is back...my muse is back ! Oh how I have missed you. Peace is found at the end of a pencil, pen, brush and paper. ahhhh...! Oh and the cleaning bug hit hard here the last 3 days. Yeah, the cobwebs were about to cover a window and the dust..well lets just say it really needed it. I am also working on our bedroom. Since my husbands death I hate going to bed. So, decided to turn it into a girlie girl room with lots of pink shades and ivory accents. Moving and relocating a few pieces of furniture, bought some new bedding and we will see what happens then . Even got myself a big teddy bear to cuddle with! Yes...inside this 53 year old hen is a chick just dying to get out ! lol !! or wait...maybe I am reverting to my childhood ? yikes !!

Off to do somethin...forgot what.. but off for now !
Hugs...Kristy

Kristy, You are making my heart sing with joy and praise! Thanking the Lord for you, and the strides you are making. Can you share some of your art with us? I'd love to see your creations, and I'm sure our other sisters would too! Downloading is so easy now, thanks to our wonderful friends at MJF!

Thrilled about what you have done to your bedroom and the teddy bear! You know I did the same thing after my husband left me, but had forgotten all about it - it did wonders for me! Even got a teddy bear! I still have him and he is a special friend, he's a little worn, but still too cute!
Many hugs sweet sista!

Dear Ruth,
Thank you so much ! Yes I am feeling joy once again through my art. I will post a piece I did that went to #3 in the world on a website I go to. It is something I did in a journal that has become a treasure. You will understand what I mean when you see it. I am going to figure out my new Scanner/printer and load it as soon as I finish my rounds here on MJF...so keep watching !! I guess hearing it from you makes me realize I am making strides and am finally finding peace and joy in my life. I went to our womens Bible study last night and I know it was the first time I didn't ask for prayers for healing of my broken heart. Wow... God is so good ! Ok... getting excited to read, post and there is a muse singing in my ear... you need to get this on paper soon !! lol !!!
Hugs and blessings..

Here is the piece I did in a journal. I'm working with a new scanner/printer and can't get the whole thing in the scan. But at least you get some idea. This one is of my late husbands hand. It has become a treasure to me. It is created using Zentangle(registered trade mark. More info on www.zentangle.com ) I have also done my hand and the hands of our children and grands.I post my work to Flickr and this one went to #3 in the world for several weeks. I also trade and do commissioned workes in this style and others. This one brings my much joy.

It reminds me of Celtic art. Woven and interwoven. It took me a while to clean out the bedroom but I did so as well as rearranged rooms and gave away stuff to people I knew would use it and such like. Took quite a while but I am glad to see you taking joy in creating bless you.
