This is my prayer for us today.

Philippians 4:7 And the peace of God, which passes all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Sometimes in the midst of our turmoil, we look out at our problems instead of looking up. This is much like Peter when he got out of the boat. We are to keep our eyes on Jesus, and listen to His word. The following scripture from the Old Testament is helpful to me, as it speaks to those Chosen ones who were living in the city of Babylon... the very essence of worldliness: Jeremiah 29:11 New International Version (NIV)

11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

Claudia...Thank you for the scripture...it is one of my favorites too...sometimes we get caught up in the day to day goings on and forget to remember that God always has what's best for us in mind:):):)

More often than not, my fears and discouragement come when I am not purposefully clinging to His promises! Here recently, I find my pain and the overwhelmingness of raising six children when I feel beat up on to override my desire to search His Word for His truths and promises! Then He draws me back to Him and I am reminded of His faithfulness to His children!

"So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." Isaiah 41:10

Yes Shannon he is a faithful God.

The very last verse in the Bible sums it up for me.
Rev.22:21 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.

As we remember the 9-11 tragedy...and continue to pray for those who lost loved ones...Even in the midst of evil that still tries to overtake our wonderful country...

Praying!

I have learned that to have a good friend is the purest of all God's gifts, for it is a love that has no exchange of payment.
by Frances Farmer

Just follow God unquestioningly.
Because you love Him so, for if you trust His judgment there is nothing you need to know.

I trust in you Jesus...

Dearest friends - I really really really need prayers today! I am having intense pain on my left side - the muscles seem to be really mad, one of the four incision sites really hurts, and I am getting shooting pains in my left shoulder (the brain has difficulty registering pain below the diaphragm in the abdominal region and often you will feel it in other areas, especially shoulder and neck). To top it off, I feel extremely sick to my stomach. We see the surgeon tomorrow for a follow up, and I am praying that something has not gone askew. I have taken my narcotic already today, which is odd in that I have only been needing it at night, but that tells you how bad it is this morning. Thank you!

Good morning girls!! I was just wondering if anyone would be interested in becoming pen pals? The old fashion prayer partners with snail mail in the USPS? I could really use a couple extra prayer partners!

Nikki - If you are interested, under the swap category, there is a thread for penpals. Then you could get a list of different people interested in writing.... though I can not guarantee all on the list are Christian.

Dear Shannon... I have been out of the loop for so long, that I am unaware of your plight from surgery. You talk about your incision sites and pain in them. I am glad that you are seeing your surgeon tomorrow, and I hope that you are NOT running a fever or that there is more redness or puffiness around your incision sites. My best to you, and I pray that this is just a temporary set-back and that you will be well quickly.

Thank you Claudia! Last Wednesday I had my left adrenal gland removed due to a mass on it. There is no fever or any sign of infection.... I think I am more worried that I have pulled something within my abdominal cavity. THere are layers and layers of stitches and healing that needs to happen. Your adrenal glands sit on top of your kidneys, so they had to go all the way back through my abdomen to take it out :/ I won't start to feel normal for a month :( But I am really hoping the pain goes away soon!!!!!

Shannon, you remain in my thoughts & prayers.

The following verses have help shape how I live my life.

Philippians 4:11-13
Not that I speak in respect of want but I have learned, in whatsoever state I am therewith to be content.

I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need.

I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

Romans 10:17
So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

One of the first verses I memorized as a child.

Little known acts of faith – Joshua leads Israel across the Jordan River

Joshua 3:13 And it shall come to pass, as soon as the soles of the feet of the priests that bear the Ark of the Lord, the Lord of all the earth, shall rest in the waters of Jordan, that the waters of Jordan shall be cut off from the waters that come down from above; and shall stand upon an heap.

Joshua 3:17 And the priests that bare the Ark of the Covenant of the Lord stood firm on dry ground in the midst of Jordan, and all the Israelites passed over on dry ground, until all the people were passed clean over Jordan.

Joshua 4 Tells us how the priests didn’t pass over until 12 men took 12 stones out of Jordan and set them up on dry ground as a memorial of what had happened. Then the 12 men took 12 more stones and set them up in the midst of Jordan where the priest stood. Only then did the priests & the Ark of the Covenant pass over to dry land.

The Bible doesn’t tell how long it took for all of Israel to pass over & for the stones to be put in place – all we know is that the priests stood and watched as all reached safety then it was their turn to go across. As soon as the priests were on dry ground Jordan flowed again.

Job 19:25-27

For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth.

And though after my skin worms destroy this body, yet in my fresh shall I see God:

Whom I shall see for myself,...
