Good Morning!
I woke up at 6am with a migraine, took ibuprofen and threw that up. At 9am took meds for migraine and still have it. Ugh.

Last night I skipped on an outing with hubby, but at the time, it worked for all of us. One dd was at a sleep over, one was with him at the movies (an old drive in), and those of us at home had quiet time. I watched the movie "Escape" and went to bed. However, the morning brought pain. I am sure it's from lack of sleep.

However, hubby bought me a loose leaf organic tea for a "restorative" sleep. I'm trying it tonight.

On another note, my lymph node is smaller today. Although I haven't been to the doctor, my symptoms are exactly as the ones stated for "Chronic Fatigue Syndrome." I am working hard at not working too hard. If that makes sense. I read about it on Dr. Oz. and other sites to up my zinc, vit. A, E etc. To exercise in shorter, slower paces, and to take Q10 (to rebuild cells). There is no cure other than anti-anxiety drugs, massaging for relaxation and release of toxins, and rest etc.

Hubby and I didn't go camping, as he had to work today (Sunday). We realized the need to get out, over night, by ourselves is more important now.

Thank you for your prayers. If you have any Bible verses to share, please inbox them to me. I'm reserving a smaller Bible for highlighting the ones you recommend to me.

Again, thank you for your prayers. It's been a rough "ride" this year.

Hi Kristina,
I am sorry your are going through so much, My prayers are definitely up there for you and I do hope you do get some time alone with your DH.
I was watching something on the internet the other day and it was very interesting. It was a doctor talking about how much iodine we are lacking in our system and he said one thing that affects us and can block it is soy and soy is in everything. He said a lot of people are low in iodine. You might check that out.
You take care of your self as I know you are trying to do and God is right there with you through all this.
take care and blessings

Oh, Kristina - You poor dear!!! I'm still praying, sister! :)

Girls, we're all hunkered down and awaiting Sandy. The parents in our school district received calls today announcing that schools will be closed beginning Tuesday and for the rest of the week. They told parents they just don't know what to expect, that they are anticipating a few days without electricity and in light of the state of emergency, they feel having the kids stay home is the safest decision. We're nowhere near the coast, but apparently the way the storm is moving, we're going to get socked with nasty, dangerous weather. For the time being, my hubby still has to go to work during this, which is making me very uneasy. And I'm supposed to have another round of eye injections on Tuesday, for which I am already a week late due to having the flu last week. I don't mean to whine, truly. I'd rather be safe than sorry. But if you all would please pray for my eyesignt, I'd really appreciate it. My left eye is dimming, sort of like having a shade slowly pull down about 2/3 of the way over a window. I can deal without my vision, though. I just want everyone to be safe.

Thank you for your prayers. I pray all of you will be safe and out of harm's way, and that the Lord will be merciful to those in Sandy's path.

Hugs -

Nini

Thank you, Jenne... I'll be praying for you, too. Where are you located? My brother's out in Adam's County, and they are really hunkering down. God bless and protect you! Hugs - Nini

Praying for all of you in regards to Sandy. I know our weather here will be nasty starting today.

We bought a Thundershirt for our youngest dog. I have it right here awaiting any thunder that may come upon us.

Thank you for your prayers. Hubby told me last night that he really misses our outings, and that for Christmas, he wants to get away again. He wants an outing that bad too. It really helps.

My son is working full-time now. It's a temp job, so it's mostly for the holiday season. He is still an employee at his old job, but not getting hours. He's not liking it, because he wants a permanent job.

As for me adjusting to being home alone now, I have to keep a list of chores. Part of chronic fatigue is memory loss and not being able to remember stuff. On dd's birthday, I forgot to add two ingredients to a recipe I've made for years. I did the same thing a few days ago, making my famous sloppy joes. Ugh. I have trouble concentrating also.

With my son working, the dogs, chickens, goats, rabbit, cats, wood hauling, stocking stoves etc.....is now my job alone now. It is all day work, not to mention my regular chores - laundry, floors, dishes, bills, etc. I have to write everything down or I will forget something.

My verse for today: Psalm 127:2 ESV
It is in vain that you rise up early and go late to rest, eating the bread of anxious toil; for he gives to his beloved sleep.

Thanks Lesley. This lack of memory stuff is for the birds. I took strainers of compost stuff out to dump, let my chickens out, and forgot my containers...ugh...

I went back out for them. Goodness.

Good morning, girls! Thank you for your prayers...

We're doing really well, actually. My eye appointment has been rescheduled - yet again - for next Tuesday due to the storm, and thankfully when my hubby left for work this morning, it was only downpouring without any major high winds. We only lost phone and online services for a few hours yesterday. Friends in the next town over lost power or a few hours yesterday, too, and her husband saw snow coming down late last night on his way home from work, but we didn't see snow - yet, anyway. That is supposed to possibly be headed our way tomorrow. They just really don't know what to expect becaus this is such a unique combination of weather systems. We did have a lot of debris hitting the house at times last night. At one point it sounded like furniture pummeled against the second story of the back of the house, but my husband ran out and was unable to see anything. Guess all will be revealed in the morning light. The news is reporting that there are power outages in our region, flooding, a mudslide/landslide, and a lot of downed trees and debris on the roads. Thankfully, we're okay and although more inclement weather is expected today, we haven't experienced anything nearly as bad as those in the coastal regions. We really need to continue to pray for all of those who were out there in harm's way. They have a long road ahead of them, to be sure.

I cannot get through to my Dad on the Cape, nor can I reach my Mom in Maryland. I guess we'll just have to wait for the time being. I'm really, really concerned about my Dad because of his proximity to the water. If anyone lives on Cape or off Cape (Cape Cod, that is), I sure would appreciate hearing some news... and a few prayers for them.

My son's friends are all in trouble, God love them, because they made the whole thing up about the schools calling. It's a long story, but I'm happy to report that despite a couple of hours delay this morning, they're all going to be in school and then grounded for the duration for their attempt at deceiving their parents. I guess they were hoping somehow they'd get the week off to play video games. My son is loving it because he thought he'd be the only one having to do school this week... now they will, too! BOYS!!! What on earth were they thinking?! The second parents started calling each other, they were busted! How dumb they must think we are! It's going to be awfully quiet around here for the next week or so! LOL!

Hugs and blessings -

Nini

Good update, and I had to laugh about the boys. Kids!

Glad things are okay so far. We got sleet this morning. The kids had wished the school closed, but they did not. It's raining here now, and very windy. I hope the barn roof holds. We haven't finished the goat stalls in the other barn yet.

Farmgirl hugs,
Kristina

Well It is good to hear what is going on and I am glad you are all safe and even as children keeping thinking of ways to stay out of school that later when they grow up they will think back on what they did and still laughing about it even if they did get caught and will do what you parents did in the same situation.
I am glad your all ok. I will keep praying for you all during this whole storm mess.
God Bless and stay warm.
I am glad they gave you a new eye appointment Nini.

We are on day number 2 of rain thanks to the pineapple express. Everything is waterlogged not sure how many trick or treaters we will get tonight. I have been keeping the east coast in my prayers. The news just keeps showing new York and Atlantic city but I wonder how the small towns are coping

Prayers are needed. My father in law is in the hospital because he had the upper lobe of his lung removed, so he is now cancer free. Yay! He will be in the hospital for a little while yet for recovery, but in the meantime my Mother in law has been having health problems and has just been to the doctor and she has 3 tumors in her liver. Prognosis does not look good. FIL does not want to know what the outcome is and has asked that we not tell him until he is better. Makes sense since we need to keep him on the recovery road. My husband is devastated, so not only is he dealing with unemployment but now he is dealing with the health issues of both his parents. What makes it hard is they are in Fort Worth and we live in the Seattle area. We need help knowing which path to follow. We thought my husband had a job offer down in the Dallas area but it seems to have fallen through. Pray that the Lord will help us find the path he wants us to take.

Oh, Lesley... I will be praying for everyone. Such difficult times and such hard news to take. I'm so sorry for what you all are going through. God love and bless all of you.

Good news! Dad and his wife are okay. They were at a friend's during the storm. My dad needed to be somewhere where he would be able to keep his oxygen tank running, so they went to stay over at his buddy's place because he lives on the hospital grid. Theír house did endure some flooding, but he said it was nothing major. He said what really caused them problems was wind sheer after the storm passed. It actually hit up the street, but it caused damaged to most of the homes in the neighborhood, including theirs. I didn't ask, but I'm figuring the damage was probably the result of debris flying(?). The wind sheer also was apparently the cause of their power outages, etc., as it left trees and power lines down in its wake. They're up and running now, though. Thankfully, my stepsister went over to check on them yesterday morning, and was kind enough to bring them some hot coffee and some supplies. Dad said hot coffee just tasted so good, that you always forget how important the little conveniences like that are until the power goes out. :) He sounds good... happy... I'm just very relieved!

Oh! And although my Mom's power and phone lines were out for a couple of days, she did manage to email me. They're fine and incurred no real damage at all, praise the Lord! Her employer gave them an extra day off due to the storm, too, which made her quite cheerful. She was making a pumpkin pie for my stepdad, so things are all as they should be! ;)

Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers! Please continue praying for all those who are still in the long haul of recovery!

Hugs -

Nini

Prayers for you Lesley that God will guide you to the path to follow and that he will have your husband a better job than that one he tried for. I pray that is parents will heal and all their health problems will turn out smaller than the doctors think they are.
Prayers for You Nini and your family and I am glad that they are ok after the hurricane.

Hello my Farmgirl friends. It has been ages and ages (and ages) since i was here. What a year I have had! Mostly good and the Lord has been very patient with me. (Isn't He just so kind & loving to His daughters) I wonder how you all are? All of you at the eastern end of my state of NY and those in NJ, are you okay? I pray that all your needs are met, that you will have divine appointments with those who can help. And i pray that unbelievers can also be ministered to at this time.
Anyway, just wanted to check in and re-connect. Hugs to you all.Angie.
