Nini, I love Advent too! It's such a great time to rededicate yourself to your faith. I think it's also a great time to humble yourself and remember that Jesus was born to a carpenter and unwed mother in a stable. So even though Jesus is Messiah, the chosen king, he was humble, and we too should be humble and remember those who have less. I really just love how it brings focus back to our beginnings as a faith.
This year at my school for Advent our theme is teen homelessness in Milwaukee. There are over 400 teens homeless in Milwaukee, yet only 15 beds for them at night. So our focus is to bring awareness and to help those in need this season.
God's and Farmgirl's Blessings,
Megan

Goodmorning Fellow Farmgals

May I please ask for prayer this week? My husband and I moved to St. Francisville three years ago with his job. We have been looking for property to build on. ($$$$$) First piece, after a long search fell through because of misrepresentation by the owner. Now we are finally on track about to build and the house we are leasing is being sold out from underneath us and we have to find a new place to live for six months (us and 4 kids) that will not break the bank. I know that everything is going to work out fine. That is not the problem. It is the frazzles from the tons of little glitches at add up. My husband and I just need people to pray some piece and calm our way so we can make it through.
The house we are renting....Is beautiful, but the heat and air doesn't work and the land lord will not fix it. My husband has been under the house in the last five months alone to fix 7 big leaks-(water bill of 35.00 has been 125.00 of late)There is a LOOOONG list of things in this house that I will not bore you with. The only pros....my children LOVE Mr. Cheese the bus driver and the house is 100 yds from our new property. Keeping this house clean so people can come and look at it has been a BIG stress with four kids and now having to uproot the kids for a six month move away from their property is proving to be upsetting.
Please just pray. I don't know what exactly. Mostly for my kids and that my husband and I can maintain a peaceful and calm leadership for them.

Thank you
Suzanne

Oh and Jen. Good job. It is the lifestyle not the human living the life style that is the main problem. The human can be saved and redeemed, the lifestyle cannot. So many people, even Christians, are climbing on the politically correct bandwagon that things that are not good are being accepted because of the fear of man. A shame really. That attitude closes the door for the redemption of the human who really needs it.

Hi Farmgirls...I am in need of some prayer. Been going through crying jags like crazy lately. Not sure what my problem is
but I am already on a good anti-depressant and it helds with my Fibro pain too.

But my prayer request is this...I just found out this morning that I am going to have an upper denture made in January
and because Of my small mouth (surprising for someone who talks as much as me, I know) I am going to have to have the
denture special made (they don't have forms for my small of mouth) and I will have to go with no upper teeth for 6-8 weeks.
Can you believe that???? I am going to have to go into hiding I guess. UGH! All I could do was bawl when they told me
that...but because I have so many complications (like I am allergic to what they make dentures out of) but now they can
use nylon...which is good, anyway way too many things to list...I have no other choice if I want less complications in the
long run. Please pray for my attitude, my vanity and my pride. The good Lord knows how to humble us that's for sure.

Thanks and blessings,
Peggy

Prayers to all you farm girls. I'm putting in my request. My mom MIGHT have breast cancer. She had a mammogram on tues. that showed splotches that maybe indicators. I'm asking for healing and strength for her as well as strength for me and my family. She's waiting to see what her reg. dr. says. The radiologist who did her mammogram told her to wait till June to have another one. That's too long and I told mom that.

I've lost alot of family members to cancer over the past 2 years. Most of them, I wasn't very close with (mom's brother and a great aunt) but it still hurt to see my family go through this.

My sister may also have a non cancerous tumor on her pituitary gland (she had her thyroid removed in 2007). She's waiting to get into her endocrinologist in Jan. Hopefully she can get in through a cancellation sooner.

Dec. has not been good at all. Thanx in advance.

Linda...I am not afraid of Dentists at all...have had everything done possible over the years.
But I just don't want to have to go 8 wks with no teeth. I will pray for you and you pray for me
and maybe it will be better than we both anticipate. Our Beloved Father has probably gotten us
both through worse circumstances in the past!

Lorena...will be praying for your mom. Hopefully it isn't cancer and is just fybroid cysts or something.
One year my sister, my Aunt, my Mom and I all had bad mammograms (some kind of freaky thing) and out
the four of us My Mom was the only one who had cancer. But it was right after Dad died and the Dr.'s
decided we had all been under such stress...that they didn't think that under different circumstances
that mom would have even had cancer. Her's was the size of pin point. Anyway, she never had to have
radiation just chemo (or maybe I reversed those) and she has been cancer free for 8 years. My Grandmother,
my brother and several more distant relatives have all died of cancer though...and my little sister is
dying from several forms of cancer right now (mostly lung). But I tell you all of this to say...that
Breast Cancer seems to have more survivors than any other cancer I know of. So...we will pray healing for
your mom NOW and hope it was all just a strange Mammogram Read.

Is your sister going to have the non-cancerous tumor removed? I would think that would put pressure on the
pituitary gland that might cause other problems.

Try to see God in the midst of all of these trials Lori...He is right there holding everybody's right hand.
It also helps to picture Him as the Great Physician...because He is. Have you ever seen the picture of him
standing in a Surgery Room carefully watching the hands of the operating Dr. and watching the Patient? It
is an awesome picture...and one I remind people of who are going into surgery. Look for God in the midst of
your circumstances and you will find Him watching over you.

Blessings and Christmas JOY,
peggy

Hello Gals
I am praying for each one of you. As a read your post and I think of how I felt as my mother was dying with a brain tumor and as I watched her sisters all but one so far die of cancer or alzhemers, it makes the stress my husband and I are going through seem a little smaller. We are not fighting health problems--although the stress keeps my husbands sugar levels messed up ( he is diabetic). Peggy, women are so conditioned to be aware of our physical person and how we look. I think it is only natural for you to be upset. You will still be beautiful you and the time will fly past. You can do it. I know you can.

Suzanne...Thank You dear heart that was so sweet, comforting and encouraging. And you are right...in the whole
scheme of some pretty heavy-duty health issues out there....Mine is all a real NON-ISSUE! (not your words but
mine). My Bible Study Group that I lead (we have been together for 22 years) said that I could still come teach
even if I had to gum-it! LOL I know that God is good to his children and He wants His Best for each of Us. We
look at death as the ultimate bad thing...but God looks at it...like we are just walking through a door, from
one room to another. And death is the Ultimate Healing...no more pain and no more suffering and looking at Jesus
face-to-face.

Blessing Girls,

Good morning!!
Peggy, will sure be praying! I have had some bad dentist experiences. That's why? My family just adores their one here tho. So I just may begin to lose those fears, lol! Ultimately I believe I am looking at dentures as well. I pray that if you have to go the 8 months, that it goes quickly for you!
Suzanne, no matter the type or extent of a trial, it is real and tough for us. Prayers to you and Dh!
Lorie, praying for you family! It is scary when those tests come back a problem. I pray that all will be ok.

These days are hard, so much that we all go thru and cope with.
I am So Very Thankful that the Lord is there, each moment to walk us thru each step. Some days, I admit, I sense that better than others! But yet each day I know He is with me!
Hope everyone is doing ok today, in His grace and peace!
Farmgirl hugs,

I just read through the posts as I am very behind. Peggy, I felt as though you minimized your trauma and fear regarding the dentist. I really have not had a bad time at the dentists or specialists until I had to have the bone implant with bone loss in my jaw. Now I have a healthy fear and know that what is hard for one may not be for another and vice versa. we are all put up against certain trials on our journey, and they can be huge mountains at times. I so appreciate this group as nothing is too small for us to take to the Lord on another's behalf. For some, this season is the most wonderful in the world, and for others (like me), I am always a little glad when the New Year has come and I can look forward to Spring. I am so thankful for this group and the fact that we have the privilege to bear another's burdens. Blessings to you all.....

Claudia...I am trying to keep "perspective" but I will take all the prayers I can get...because I am nervous about it.
And truly it is no small thing for me personally. But in the whole scope of people with some real heavy weight health
issues going on right now Like Darlene and Margo and Debbie Horn...mine does seem trivial in comparison. I have to keep
my sense of humor, trust God and rely on everyone's prayers...to get past my own anxiety on this one. So, yes you are
right I am trying to minimize my emotional trauma over this...for fear of it really getting the better of me. Does that
make sense? But please, please, please do pray for me because those prayers will be what really gets me through this....
not my joking and making light of it to cover my anxiety.

Linda...will absolutely pray for Samuel. I pray that every that everything went smoothly for him and his parents and
grandparents last night...and that he will have a speedy recovery...and get lots of love lavished on him.

blessings,
peggy

Peggy,

thank you so much. Mom says what was found was calcifications which could indicate cancer. She's going to call her reg dr. hopefully this week. My sister is waiting for her appt. with the endocrinologist. She's on the list to call if there are any cancellations (in reality, do they really try to call?). Anyway, thank all of you for your prayers and prayers are sent back at you all.

Ladies,
Thank you for prayers! My gson had his surgery and he is recouperating nicely.
He was discharged this afternoon. Bless his heart, he said he wanted to stay a bit longer because 'it was kinda fun there'. Lol!!
Kids are sure resilient .
My dd and her hubby are in the middle of a move when this happened. The move has been a bit stressful and now this health crisis with their son really put things in perspective for them, she said!!!!
Hope all of you are doing well.

Good Morning Ladies
Linda I am so glad your grandson is doing well. and I hope the move is completed soon so that stress is behind them too.

My husband and I continue on with our waiting for direction from God. We so don't want to up root our kids from this small area we are in (where we are building) just for six months and then have to move them back when the house is finished. The person who is buying the house we are in keeps wanting to come over to take a "look see" and us not be there. So.....I have to stop work (I work at home) clean everything and leave so she can look around again. She is coming again tomorrow. This happens about twice a week.
There is a lady here I spoke with who has a house here and in the city and another in Texas. They are never here. She was all for letting us lease her house but her husband said NO. She keeps calling me back because she feels quilting or something. She said that through the years people have helped her and her husband out and they never help anyone. Anyway....something will work out. We have until the end of Feb. to find a place. and we will. and it will be a place we can afford even if it isn't close to our property.

Have a great day gals!!!

Hi girls -

I'm sorry - I'm pretty behind myself, but I have been checking in whenever possible and have been keeping you all in my prayers. Peggy - I'm so glad you brought up Darlene, Margo and Debbie... they've been at the top of my prayer list for a while now. I know Debbie is doing so much better (PRAISE GOD!), but I haven't heard much about Darlene or Margo - has anyone heard anything? Does anyone have mailing addresses to share? I'd like to send something to help them through. If you do, please email me. I will keep the information in strict confidence, I promise. Such scarey things to face. We really are so blessed to have each other to lift us up in prayer in these difficult times. I don't know what I'd do without you, girls. I just love you all so much.

Megan! I am so PROUD of you for your work with the homeless teens! I would love to support your efforts in some way - is there an address where we can send a holiday donation??? You are such a light in this world! SHINE ON!!! SHINE ON!!!

Jen - I'm so sorry you've met with such painful attacks on your character. You know, they killed Jesus for speaking the truth. They humiliated Him, insulted Him, spat on Him, beat Him, bruised Him, whipped Him, drew His blood, mocked Him, tortured Him, forsook Him, crucified Him, and killed Him. Yet in His profound Love, He remained true for our sake and that of His Father. He never said we would have it easy in this world. He told us to take up our crosses and follow Him. It isn't always easy, is it? He has entrusted us with everything, and we do it all for Him. God bless you, sister. We all know how hard it can be. Stay strong and true; speak the truth in love; bring His love in peace; continue to gladden His heart, soothe His wounds and bring others into His fold. You are one of His blessings. I'm lifting you up in prayer. Much love to you. :)

Just a quick report of prayers answered - THANK YOU for your prayers!!! My dad came home last Friday. He is on Coumadin for the blood clot that remains in his heart. I'll never understand why they would let him leave the hospital knowing that the blood clot is there, but he sounds upbeat; weak, but upbeat. As a matter of fact, he's had no problem showing his ornery side, so I'm taking it all as a good sign. ;) His feeling is that there is no sense in him laying around helpless in a hospital waiting for the blood clot to dissolve or move - he'd rather be comfy and resting at home. He's happy, so I'm happy. I'm just going to make the most of every day we have "together," too, despite the miles that separate us. We're hoping to head up for a visit this spring. He says he doesn't fare well at all in winter and would prefer us to come when it's nice out so he can enjoy himself and our company, so that's the plan. He's a tough young old guy (only 66). He likes things done his way, and doesn't allow for anything else. May God help my stepmother now that he's home! LOL! Just kidding - I know there is nowhere else she'd rather him be. They're taking each day, one at a time, and dealing with each day's issues as they present themselves. As long as they're together all is well. :)

'Better skedaddle - I look forward to being back with all of you soon!

Many hugs, much love and lots of prayers -

Nini

Good Evening Ladies
My husband called on the way home from work to tell me that he received a call from the owners of the house we are renting to inform us that the Lady who keeps coming to look at the house because she is supposedly buying it, isn't not coming tomorrow as scheduled. No explanation was given to the owners by the agent except that the lady changed her mind. Changed her mind on what I don't know...I am just thankful she isn't coming again tomorrow. Thank you for your prayers ladies. It will be a relief not to have to stay up all night making the house spotless. My youngest has her kindergarten Christmas play at school tomorrow, so I am off to do devotion with my kids and husband and get her dress pressed and ready.

Sleep well Christian Friends.
