This is not a major deal but I am just wondering how would you all handle a bad experience on the MJF forum/nasty email from fellow farm sister? I know I didnt do anything wrong but I now have a "bad taste in mouth" and have stayed off for a few days. I guess I am just going to pray each time before I venture on the forum page. This might be a good idea to do before I log on to my computer at all.

Oh, Mari-lyn! That's TERRIBLE!!! That's not the farmgirl way!!! Please don't let one bad apple spoil the whole bunch for you! I'm going to shoot you a quick email with some information, and I'm also going to pray that things work out. I'm so sorry this has happened! Hugs - Nini

Hi everyone! I have been offline during storms so lots of catching up to do. Welcome Kim and Stacy! Linda and Renae are you OK? We are about 50 min from Joplin and were going up Sun after church and that morning my husband says he doesnt think we should go. We talked it over and stayed home. We would have been going right where the twister hit and most likely not be here now. It is all around. Other twisters have touched down and taken lives south of us but not on the scale of Joplins. More rural area. Flooding took a mom and her 2 kids and another lady when there vehicle was swept away. Yet in the midst of all this the stories of miracles and goodness of people helping one another warm your heart. My mom who hadnt spoke to me since Sept. called that Sun night. It took an F5 but she called. We have so much to be thankful for and one of them is this forum. I may never meet you ladies in this lifetime but you have blessed me and I thank you for that. This has shown me to say things like that. Life is too short. Live each day to the fullest.

Hi Girls! Happy Sunday! I am wondering - have any of you read the book, "Heaven is for Real?" I read last night in one sitting - easy reading, with a beautiful message. I love books that remind us just how real God is - and how real His love for us is! I know we need to be careful when reading about "afterlife," but this little boy's recollections of meeting Jesus and Heaven really hit home to my heart. Makes me happy! :) Hugs - Nini

Thanks for sharing the book Nini. I've heard a few people mention it. I may try to get a copy from the library. It all depends on time I have.

Also, I wanted to share with everyone today. I read my devotions and was reminded to not obsess about praying for myself and to not to forget to pray for others. So, if you are overwhelmed by prayer requests from others, remember 1Sam 12:23

1 Samuel 12:23

New International Version (NIV)

This hit home hard, because I find myself praying non stop for myself and for my family (needing paid, all of our equipment is broke down, tags are expired on a vehicle, bills to pay, etc etc), and often forget to add those extra prayers. Even when times are rough, I will try harder to not forget. I have a prayer journal, but have been neglectful in using it consistently.

23 As for me, far be it from me that I should sin against the LORD by failing to pray for you. And I will teach you the way that is good and right.

Kristina - the thing I found most interesting in the book was that as the little boy revealed his experience to his father, his father was able to confirm his witness through Scripture... it was really amazing!

Thank you for the Scripture - it is one I will commit to memory!

I loved that book! The parts that made me really believe it were the part of the mothers miscarraige and the photo of the great grandfather. He couldnt have known those things without actually being there. It was so good.

Nini, I have heard about that book, and I am really interested. Sometimes we look for answers in Church authority and such, but can forget that little kids can be pretty wise, too:)

Megan - SO true!!!

You know - if you all would like, I would be happy to share my copy with all of you! We could just pass it from farmgirl to farmgirl, if you'd like. Email me to let me know and I'll start a list. I'd just like it back when everyone's all done, if that's okay. I'd like to keep it in my collection! :)

Hugs -
