Ohkay about that time I heard someone; who I thought was my husband calling my name.
At about this time he is getting ready for work,
or leaving, sometimes early to go to the old house ; or to catch up on work in the office.
Anyways, I got up and walked around in the house; which was dark ;
and son was a sleep
looked out the window and hubby was gone!
It was just like some one saying your name twice and wanting you to answer
I had shared before about strange things happening in our new home we built here on the farm.
I don't know what to think !
I wasn't scared ; just surprised
I am a Christian and was wondering if it could have been God calling my name and wanting my attention;
So, I asked; so far no answers.
anybody got any ideas????

I don't think you are crazy after all God called Samuel the same way! Listen He may have something to say.

It makes me wonder if there was some kind of delay in your mind. Maybe he called your name before he left, to say goodbye or whatever. You were asleep and it took a while to register? grasping at straws here.

It's happened to me many times and it's usually when I am sleeping and it wakes me up. They say that when you meditate and when you are in that sleep right before a dream state that the veil between here and the hereafter is at its thinnest and that people who have passed on can more easily communicate with us. I happen to believe much of this as I have had many personal experiences but I am not here to try and convince anyone else. I am open to this type of thing. But now if those "voices" start telling you to do bad things well then that means you're going psychotic on us! LOL! There are other ways that they might try and communicate also....lights flickering, thumps or bangs, phone ringing but no one there....it's an energy thing. The more open you are the more you will experience.
Take it for what it's worth,,,I'm not trying undermine anyone's faith or religion but you asked!

Sheila....you said it was your husband calling your name? Have you checked on him? Like called him up to ensure he's okay? Please let us know.

I don't think you are crazy at all. I know that God speaks to us audibly and so I take away from your experience that you are supposed to center down, get into God's Word, read, read, read and listen to what you are being told. And ask for wisdom and discernment to understand things as they transpire. God speaks to us to get our attention and to assure us that He is near. JMHO!!

Yep, I called hubby at work and told him what had happened; he said it wasn't him.
He asked me what I was going to do today.
Maybe he thought I am a little wacky too. Lol
Thanks for the advice.
Yes , I remember God speaking to people in dreams
and yes I do believe in spirits.
I just hope it is the right kind of spirit and not "you know who !!"
I am always praying and reading God's Word
I get many of my poems that way and writings.
God does say in
Psalms 46:10
Be still and know I am God.

I've had that happen to me ever since I was a little girl-waking up to someone whispering my name. Doesn't happen often & I always wonder if it's an ancestor,guardian spirit or what not. Several months after my mom passed many years ago,I woke up to my hair being gently flipped/swept away from my face. At first I thought it was the cat I had at that time but he was on a totally different spot of the bed. I often wondered if it wasn't my mother checking in on me. Sandra,you & I are alike in our beliefs! We should share experiences sometime.

It could have been God. He does speak to us.
I had a strange shadow that hung around the house where we lived in Ohio. It was so noticable that my then three year old asked me who the shadow man was.
I am a Christian also. I think that feelings and spirits can "hang around."
No, you aren't nutty. I on the other hand am. LOL My hubby calls me a squirrel.

| Zephaniah 3:17 says "He (God) will rejoice over you with shouts of joy". Some translations says "He (God) sings songs over you". Perhaps that's what you experienced. |

Hmm, sounds interesting to me. I also am a christian and so is my mom and she told me once that after my grandfather died she heard him call her name and saw him once but it scared her so bad she ran away now she wishes she would have stayed she thinks he might have told her something she needed to know. I feel like if you are open to things they will all play themselves out and if it was God and he sees you are seeking him he will speak to you. Blessings,Karen

Goodness; I found all of you replies interesting and helpful
So far I haven't heard any answers yet; but I am seeking God's answers.
Many strange things have happened since we have moved here
and in the house in the city.
I often saw a man in the living room.
Only a few seconds at a time.

Very cool. I hear stuff all the time. In my personal views, I think it is a guide talking to you. Someone looking out for your best interests while you live your life down here. Guides only want the best for you so it is nothing bad. Just someone saying hello from the otherside. ;)
