Hello.. I'm at the crossroads of my life. At 40 I'm trying to finish up AA degree.. I'm only lacking Algebra {{{{shudder}}}} right now the AA is in Liberal Arts. I'm thinking about going on with my education and taking Agriculture. I've read books and reading MJF magazine and books I realize that we need to do more or maybe I just need to do more to protect our earth. The problem is I don't know anyone with a degree in Ag and will I be the only voice out there demanding organics and non-gmo food and truth in product labeling... I get a little carried away with all of it. And I have to admit I can't grow a decent garden and so far I've only been good at raising chickens.
SOOOO much available in Agriculture! My oldest daughter will be graduating this spring and will be pursuing and Ag degree. I was amazed at what there is available! I would say go for it...and Good Luck!

Thank you and I'm sure you are so proud of your daughter! What is she interested in... animal, plant, soil, agi-economics? I'm thinking more about getting into animal science through the Ag program but I still don't know.
Practice makes perfect! I say go for it too!.....we humans need all the help we can get and I bet once you get into it, you'll meet allot of other women in agriculture. Taking the first step is half the battle!
I'm a Master Gardener and this was the best year of raising weeds I ever had...lol...

I am 53 this yr and I would love to go back to school and do Animal Husbandry. I am not sure how I would do this because I work full time. I say the same as Debbie...GO FOR IT!!!.. Deborah
Thank you for all the support! I work full time and homeschool my youngest whose 10 and a bit of a problem child. I took this past semester off. When I did go full time and work full time I had no free time but I still found ways to stay connected with my family. 1. take online classes when you can 2. keep things simple at home 3. know you are doing the best thing you can for yourself and family by going to school. It has helped a lot to take this semester off and I freaked when I found out I have 71 credits.. I didn't know I had that many! Then I looked how many more I need to graduate and I wanted to cry. But I'm slipping back into my big farmgirl jeans and dusting off the boots.. here I come school! Monday is registration for returning students!!
