I developed panic attacks when I was in my twenties. I took medicine for about a year and then weaned off to have a baby. I haven't had anxiety issues since then until recently. I have started having general anxiety and panic attacks again. I try chammomile tea, b vitamins and d3 vitamins. They help some but I just can't get rid of it completely. Prayers and support would be helpful.

Lots of prayers to you.
Just a side note, do you belong to a Mother's club? It might help.

My little one is 5 years old now. The anxiety isn't post partum. I guess I didn't state that I have been free from anxiety for about 6 years until recently. Mom groups are fun and I have done them in the past. Thanks.

Have you gone back to your Dr. who treated you for the anxiety and panic attacks you had before? You may just need the meds again to break the cycle of anxiety and then be able to wean off them again. Don't suffer with them, I know how awful it can be. Get help and get them stopped so you can have peace again.

I feel for you. I had anxiety for about 12 years. I took the drugs for part of that time and was so thankful I have Natural Health practitioner friends who did not quit working with me. We tried first on thing and then another and finally I found my way out of it.
What I see missing in your program is what are you doing to help your over stressed adrenals? That is the root of your problem. I had to slow my life down, look at the relationships that were toxic to me, sleep more, eat better (no high glycemic carbs), and took vitamins and herbs to help my adrenals. The adrenals, the hypothalmus, and the pituitary are all in kahoots when the fight or flight response goes haywire.
Just giving you some things to think about. Maybe they will help you see what might be missing in your present program. I do know how horrible it was to be in that place.

This book helped me. I had them after having a bad reaction to anesthesia. I also avoid caffeine and use Bach Rescue Remedy and Calms by Hyland when it flares up.
Prayers sent.
I just looked up Calms by Hyland and the main ingredient is passionflower. My husband just ordered me some passionflower tea. I am willing to go on prescription meds if need be but I would like to try natural treatments first. I try so hard to keep chemicals out of my house and body that I hate to take an anti-anxiety med if I can find a natural treatment. I just read in a magazine that passion flower is as effective as valium for anxiety. Maybe it will work for me. Everyone's responses mean a lot to me. It helps not to feel like I'm the only one.

I will pray for you, too. What a horrible, horrible feeling. I had them for a few years, but made some real life changes similar to LaVonna that changed everything. I used to be the total "yes" girl, and not being able to say "no" was not only killing me with anxiety, it was doing a number on my family life, too. Once I cut back on my personal commitments and activities, and weaned myself off the toxic people in my life (which was hard - really hard), I was so much healthier. I started to be able to relax and enjoy my family more, to do little things for myself (which I'm still not so good at, in all honesty), to participate in activities I enjoyed more, and I really did start to sleep at night and feel so much more peaceful. Isn't it interesting how so many of us are do-ers for others, but forget to take care of ourselves? Sometimes we forget that being a light in this world doesn't mean we have to burn the candle out at both ends!
And I also have to say that Deborah is really onto something with the low blood sugar, too. When my son's blood sugar gets too low, he is absolutely not himself. A blood work-up is such a small thing to do, but it really can bring many health issues to light. If you haven't had one recently, it wouldn't hurt to have a check-up just to be safe. You just never know what goes on in a woman's body sometimes! :)
I really, really hope and pray you will find relief soon! Hang in there - and remember to breathe long, deep breaths! Hugs - Nini
God gave us two hands... one to help ourselves, and one to help others!
