If you don't mind Brooke, I'd like to just sign up for one and make one kind of holiday goodie. Over the past 12 years I have done loads of holiday baking and would like to take a small break this year. I still want to do some baking, just not 3 batches a day starting the day after Thanksgiving and going till a couple of days before Christmas.

Melanie, I don't mind at all. It might be fun for some others to have two different partners and then those who want to do one kind with one partner is fine by me...

I'll still wait to hear about what others would like.

pharmerlaura - my guess is we'll pair you up with another farmgirl unless you request two partners!
How many cookies per shipping? Probably however many you like or can fit into the tin (or whatever you choose to
send it in - mine would be some sort of tin since that probably would keep it the most fresh) of your choice..
Sort of like when someone sends a care package! You are free to make it as creative or whatever as you like! :)

I think that the assigned partners could actually make the decision around how many cookies to swap? That way each small grouping could decide what they want to do together. What do you think?

Jonnie - LOL! I was thinking it was how many cookies (like 1 cookie, 2 cookie, 3 cookie... YUMM! *cookie monster*) Hahahaha. Boy, do I feel goofy now.

LOL!! I used to do a swap with a bunch of people in my craft coop. There were about 12 of us and each of us would bake a dozen for all the others, so we'd end up with 12 dozen different cookies. It was a little bit of work up front but was well worth it. And after a few years, we all had specialties - mine were chocolate chip and my friend Tammy did the BEST frosted sugar cookies - Lisa did lemon bars. It was really fun!

I know that we're not going to do it at that level, but I would like to be with someone else who wants to at least swap even dozens.

Wow! That's a lot of cookies, Jonnie! I don't want to imagine what my kids would be like if there were 12 dozen cookies in our house. LOL

I flipped through my recipes last night and I know just what I want to make for the cookie swap now. They are very yummy! Last year was my first year making them and they were a huge hit!

BettyJo! I got your name up! :D

Jonnie, I agree with you that each partners could decide how many to choose - I am real flexible but I know shipping always gets me and can be expensive for me, so I'd like personally to keep my box to one flat rate for 10 bucks!!

I would like to join in! This sounds great:) I have always wanted to do a cookie swap. I am going to the store this weekend to get all of my bulk ingedients to premeasure them into jars to make it easier on myself when the "Holidays" get closer. Then all I have to do is add the "wet" ingredients!

Melissa that is an excellent idea about premeasuring the ingredients, I think I'll borrow that idea, thanks.

Sign me up for this too. My girls, mother and sister used to get together one day and make cookies, candy and and have an ornament exchange, but since mother died, I haven't been able to get everyone together to do it. Everyone but me is working and all the young adults want my homemade candy, so this is a chance for me to make a few cookies.lol
