Christmas Cookie Swap in the Mail!

UPDATE :

Alright, girls, the Christmas Cookie Swap is CLOSED to any new participants - Here is the official list of partners - pulled out of a mary jane's style hat to boot! :D Please contact your partners and remember to include your recipes in the package - and some of you have asked about the number of cookies to swap - I am going to let that be decided amongst each of you. Also, I personally HAVE to have gluten free cookies (I just had this confirmed the other day) so unless you want my husband eating them all (LOL!) I kindly ask you use gluten free ingredients for me. I am so sorry! Also, Fate decided that the two ladies who wanted to two cookies swaps were paired together. LOL. Jonnie and Anne - Jonnie asked for the two swaps first, but I don't have an extra person for Anna to swap with! :-/
What would you like to do, Anna?

Here are the list of partners! Please look for your names! :)

1. Emily and Melissa CARR

2. Brenda, Anna, and Jonnie (asked for 2)

3. Oleta and Connie

4. Sue and Melissa

5. Beverly and Catherine

6. Vickie and Brooke

7. Karyn and Diane

8. Elizabeth and Melanie

Brooke, I think this is a stellar idea for a swap! Cookie swaps are always rewarding and receiving cookies from around the country vs local would provide new flavors. Could we ask for receipes to be included?
Maybe rules could ask that we send at least two different cookies?

I love everything about the Christmas season!

I think including recipes would be excellent! It could be something else too, I suppose, if someone wanted to make something other than cookies...like peppermint fudge brownies or something.. (that just popped into my head..lol)

I think this is a great idea Brooke! I'll keep my eye on this to see what you all come with on the swap.

I have thought I should also try and pair each two women together in terms of distance to keep 'freshness' in mind! I'll keep everyone updated! :)

Brooke, I would love to do this! I love cookie swaps! Could we have more than one partner, as long as we lived close enough to each other?

If we all shipped USPS Priority Mail our cookies should reach their destinations in 3-5 days and if we use airtight containers, the cookies should be ok, in case some of us would need to ship a little farther.

Melanie, thank you for reminding me about that! That is true!

Brenda, I think we could have more than one if we have enough farmgirls! :) We'll have to see!

I have an extra farmgirl who is on facebook that wants to join in. She can't get on the boards lately because of her computer.

So far :
Brooke (me)
Brenda
Sue
Melanie
Anna
Connie
Melissa (on facebook)

I think late November/early December is a good shipping time. Maybe early November for a partner assignment?

Brooke,

I think I'd like to have 2 partners unless we all decide to send more than one kind of cookies. I'd like to have a variety . . .

So what is the general consensus (for everyone here) about deciding if we have more than one kind of cookie (remember, it can be brownies or bars or something like that too).... what do you ALL prefer??

I'm fine with one kind!
