So I actually started juicing today ... I threw apples, carrots, kale, spinach, celery and melon in the juicer (all organic)....it turned out yummy... but I had leftover pulp...I didn't want to just throw it away.... and I remembered I had MJF gluten-free flour...so I concocted up a bread from scratch using the pulp ..the dough was a little dry so I also put some goat milk in .. just a half a cup... I baked it and YUMMY! it is GREAT... I know this should probably be posted in the kitchen .... so bear with me. lol

Good for you Brooke! Your bread sounds really yummy! I'll have to remember that next time I juice. I usally give the pulp to my goats and they just love it.

I use to make tons of fresh carrot juice and ended up with more pulp than what I could possibly use for other things in the kitchen.

Don't feel like you're wasting it if it feeds some of your animals, or even feeds the compost. It's all good.

sounds wonderful and very healthy-i usual feed some of the pulp to my goats,i guess i could put it to better use and make something with it-but it sounds like i am not the only one who spoils their goats!

That is awesome! That sounds so good! I so wish I had a juicer! I am promising myself to get one within the next year, but it seems silly to get one mid winter when most of the veggies and such are store bought. Am I being silly? Should I just go out and get one?

No, it's not silly. I totally understand it. I've been trying to get only certain organic kinds... but I don't have access to a really great farmer's market. It's really up to you though! Or just wait until the right season!

Just a tip-when I make cheese, sometimes I freeze some of the whey in ice cube trays and use for ice in the smoothies instead of regular ice for added protein/nutrients.
