Fall is upon us! Yesterday at Walgreens, I saw they had a whole big thing of candy corn, and that is my favorite fall candy, so I bought one of the big bags, and it's almost gone. So, what's your favorite fall/halloween candy? God's Blessings, Megan aka Loretta Rae

I love the candy corn and the mellow cremes that have different flavors like maple and banana and chocolate! If you make rice crispy treats, throw in some candy corn. Its so yummy!
I also have a thing for Russell Stovers Caramel Werewolves! I think they use the same mold for Caramel Santas! |

Marian, candy pumpkins are like candy corn except in the shape of a pumpkin! They are really good. By the way, the bag of candy corn I bought yesterday is gone! They are just so good! God's Blessings, Megan aka Loretta Rae

I would have to say Caramel apples (without the nuts). I do like the "Indian Corn" which is like candy corn but with Chocolate as one of the colors. Even at that I cant eat too much of it... the pure sugar is just too much..even for someone like me who loves sweets! Enjoy everyone! Smiles, Laurie Farmgirl Sister#1403

Hmmm.... I honestly have to say my favorite Halloween Candy is ALL of it - Oh! The aroma of the big bowl full of chocolates and chewies and crunchies and sweets and sours before the Trick-Or-Treaters come... there is nothing like it! Makes me feel like a kid again, and I can't help but sneak a few in between ghosts and goblins! LOL! I do love candied apples and candy corn and black licorice, too, though. And my favorite fall candy is maple candy or penuche fudge - just a teeny bite at a time (too sweet for a big bite!), and letting it melt on the back of my tongue just like when we were little kids. We used to try to see whose would last the longest, but, of course, I never won. ;) - Nini

Melody, I love those - they are called peanut butter kisses! It is real hard to find them in recent years around here. If I do find them, I buy several pounds and then I have them for months LOL. When I was younger I loved candy corn and even more the cream pumpkins, but that's all just too sweet for me these days. I still have a terrible sweet tooth but it's changing, which is good since my metabolism has dropped! I lived in Ann Arbor for 13 years and there was this cider mill, gosh I wish I could remember the name or even what town it was in....it was bit of a drive but they had the BEST caramel apples I have ever had. The caramel was a bit soft, sort of pooled just a bit on the bottom of the paper....omg I am drooling just thinking about it LOL!!!

Picking a favorite Halloween candy is impossible...I like them all! This thread has brought up happy memories of sorting candy with my family on the dining room table after trick-or-treating. Granny always got the BlackJacks, Grandaddy got the Three Musketeers, Daddy got the Sweet Tarts and Bottle Caps, Mama got the Mr. Goodbars, and Jaqie got the M&M's (unless they were peanut M&M's...those were mine!).

For all you caramel and caramel apple lovers, have you all tried the caramel recipe from the December 2008 / January 2009 MJF magazine? It is fabulous!

Price hike on Chocolate?? Oh my. There will definetely be riots in the streets over that. I can't even imagine the chaos that will make. And it would be mostly women. What a mess! So I guess we all better go out and stock up on chocolates. We can tell the husbands that we are just helping avoid a national disaster. They should understand.
I think my favorite candy would be the candy corn too. But I can't eat too many thank goodness. They are sweet. I do love caramel apples with nuts to.
