Have any of you farmgirls ever done any drying of stuff from your gardens?
I saw on this TV program that they were making soup with dry veggies. They used dry summer squash in the soup. I have a lot of squash so I dryed some yesterday. Then today I did corn and Swiss Chard.
Any good ways to use these? Any other things that dry well?

Looking for help.

Tomatoes dry well. I just slice them in half and dry them sliced side up to retain as much of the flavor as possible. There is also a thread in the Farm Kitchen Forum called Dried Cantaloupe Candy that I am tryin tonight. I believe there are several threads about dehydrating if you search it out.

I've been drying a ton of fruit this summer. I dried peppers and tomatoes last week. I'll do more this week, along with some zucchini. I love drying because the end product doesn't take up a lot of room on the shelf.
