I was wondering if anyone has any ideas of something I could do for the pain in my right arm? The last time I went to emergency room the paramedics "shoved" the iv into it and it has been almost 2 months and I still feel pain. I type a lot for work and after typing for a few minutes, I cannot use my right arm, its very painful just to move it and most of the pain is below the elbow (what muscle you would use when you reach forward)
I would really appreciate any help!
hugs

Oh, Janie, I'm so sorry to hear you're going through this. I don't have the answers, but I will definitely keep you in my prayers! Have you tried a chiropractor? Around here they go to chiropractors for everything - even head colds! Maybe they can do some sort of manipulation to ease your nerve pain. I don't know. Just a thought. - Nini

Get checked out well by your doctor. He may send you to a pain management clinic. They offer therapy, injection, etc to help deal with the pain.

Sounds like a problem I have with my arm/elbow. I went to a chiropracter/physical therapist and they put two opposite charged medicated pads on my arm and ran electricity through it. That draws the medicine into the skin and into the tissues as it tries to reach the opposite pole. It was extremely effective if a bit uncomfortable during the therapy (it felt like the area directly under the patch fell asleep and I had that "pins and needles" feeling)

I have had to use white willow bark pills for chronic pain in my neck. It doesn't work for accute pain such as a headache, but for chronic pain it is wonderful and with no side effects for me!

janie, find someone in your area that does accupressure, after a couple of sessions, you might be able to do it yourself, or a friend/family member can. I have nerve damage in my lowback and hip do to an accident, and its the only thing that helped me, let us know how you are doing please.

Thanks for the response, gals!
I think I will try to white willow bark first and if that doesn't help go and have accupressure. Had it before for something else and it worked really well. Then if that doesn't work, I will have to get checked out by my doctor.
thanks again!

I got this same thing years ago from constantly grippng heavy pails of water.

Sorry you had to get injections. I get those in my back and face for migraine pain and the sting is intense...but they work!

Hope you will be back good as new very soon!

I had tennis elbow many years ago from carrying a tote of heavy books during nursing school. I had to rest it a lot, quit carrying books the best I could. When the doctor said a shot in the elbow, it magially speeded up getting better! I haven't had it since.

Try physical therapy - swimming may help. Talk to a PT about whether ice or heat would help.
