Try to see the best way to start milking my own cow by a machine or hand and just wanting to know all about it. We drink raw goats milk & love it! I milk by hand and have 2 right now that I am milking. I hope to be able to keep milking by hand but I know there are times when my hands hurt when I am done! We have never had any health problems from drinking it raw. if anything I think we feel better!

We drink raw milk from a dairy farm. I'd love to make my own kefir if only I could find some grains. Holding out for local ones grown in raw milk.

We do both (milk and kefir) but get our locally. Kefir grains multiply quikly if you're making it daily so if you know someone that drinks it, I bet they'd have grains to spare!
As soon as we get more property and have a nice green acre for a cow to be on exclusively, we'll invest in our own jersey. I REALLY don't want to feed any hay unless I have to! :)
