i stopped by our new library .. (the moved from a small building to a wonderful newly renovated building (City Hall is in there too!) it is DELIGHTFUL. and so charming .. they STILL use 'cards' to log books out. Had to laugh, cuz' i got Anne of Green Gables ... and all Ivy wrote on the card was (1 pb) .. one paperback .. on NAME of the BOOK and not my name .. unless of course she did all this after i left. I swear .. the library i went to in maryland was like appplying for citizenship with all the red-tape .. i love my town! xo anyhoo .. i have the book and will take it with me to florida. hope to see lots more chapters to "Anne's Story" by you gurlz when i reteurn! xo

Well girls, I would have written more today but this "Anne" girl had her share of troubles today. Husband's heart was out of rythm (he has A Fib) and he was pretty tired out today. Then finally he felt better tonight and we planted the garden in the back where we just tilled the soil. Oh and in between all this, I got stung on the hand by a very unfriendly wasp.
Soooooo tomorrow for sure I will be writing more - I have to admit, I am thinking a lot about Anne!
Frannie has her homework with her on vacation! Gotta love her!

I found a site where you can read the Anne books online, complete and free! Here is the site.....

http://www.pagebypagebooks.com/

Just do a search for Anne of Green Gables or whichever title you want to read! It is a really nice service offered!

And Kathy, I hope you got my email. And stay away from those nasty little buzzing critters! Glad your DH is feeling better though.

started reading Anne of Green Gables last night .. oh my gosh .. sounds like me in another lifetime. i find that i even 'talk' like LM Montgomery when telling the tales of the trials and tribulations of my rag chillun who amble down the dusty road headed for Sister Mercy's Foundling Home for Rag Chillun hoping to find a loving momma. Unlike the Asylum where Anne lived a short while ... all the Sisters at the Foundling Home are loving and understanding.

How fun! I'm a big Anne fan, too. I lucked out and found the Disney version of Anne on VHS for $4. I couldn't pass that one up!

I need to reread the books, too. They are among my favorites.

I am a fan as well. I also liked the books about a girl named Emily. It's been a while since I have read them all, but they are some of the first books my daughter read once she knew how to read.
The movies were great too.

I have never read Anne of Green Gables. After all the discussion and the round robin I got all of the books from the library today. I'm going to read them with my daughter. I have to be honest and say that I have a hard time reading books that are written a long time ago -- the way the sentences are constructed and the wording just seem to be a chore for me to read. But I'm going to stick with it!

Kindred Spirits magazine is out of Canada, you can order it in the USA. Look on any search engine and put in Kindred Spirits magazine and you should find it with no problems.
I dropped out of Alibris but if you look under sellers on Abebooks.com I am under seller ID Enchanted Wood Books.
