I need a new barn door. Where to find one??? What kind of place sells barn doors? I want one not too big, 2 door, external sliding. I looked at Lowe's, Home Depot, Marvin's, lumber yards, who sells them???? I live near Birmingham, AL and don't want to pay for one to be shipped to me, surely you can buy one near here.

Look for a place that sells metal buildings. Morton is a company that I think is nationwide. There is probably a metal barn siding vendor near you - try going to a store like Farm and Fleet or Tractor Supply, or your local feed dealer, and asking the people there if they know of a place. Maybe a local veterinarian would know, as he/she spends a lot of time in barns??? Or try the county extension agent???

I was at the local TSC (Tractor Supply Company) last night and noticed barn door hardware there and thought about you! The web site is http://www.mytscstore.com/ maybe you can find one near you through their web site.

I also thought of someone else who might know - if there is a Production Credit office (loans to farmers) near you, since they probably finance barn construction they would know who the barn builders are, right? I did a web search for Production Credit Alabama and came up with http://www.firstsouthfarmcredit.com/COMPANY.asp, perhaps there is one near you?

Let us know how it goes.
