Please pray for the 3 that lost their homes in the cowiche fire here. They were neighbors. This fire so far has consumed 10,000 acres. It's contained now but they are still fighting it and protecting homes in the way- including the ones across the dirt road from us. The fire was only 400 yards from my house. We were all evacuated but lots of people stayed to protect their homes, and their neighbors, and many of us snuck back in...y husband and son did early on to help move horses. We are a ranching/horse community and many horses needed moving out of harm's way.
I look out my window at a blackened ridge, smell smoke on all of us, and everything in our home, and I praise God for His protection! Friends prayed for the wind to change at a certain point when the fire was racing down the hill toward my house, a good friend's house in the path. He told me the fire was at his fence (and I saw the blackened are afterward) right toward his house when all the sudden the wind changed and his home was spared. God heard our prayers!

I am sooooooooo very happy you were spared, and anyone else that was too, I will pray for all of you being threatened by this fire, and my heart aches for those who lost.

I heard about that on the news and asked God to watch over all the farmgirls from Washington. Once again he heard my prayers. That has to be extremly emotional, and very scary. ((HUG))

OH MAN! I know what you are feeling. The fire at our place a few years back was by no means that big but that situation is soooo scary. When you see it coming and there is nothing you can do. You feel so helpless. Wild Fire is sneaky stuff. I'll be praying for everyone around you now and for your continuing courage, even though it has been about 5 yrs since the fire in our area, whenever I see smoke close by my heart drops.
I'm so busy I don't know if I just found a rope or lost my horse! |

Sending prayers. So thankful that no people or animals were hurt. Praying for the fire to remain contained & for the firefighters to have continued strength and for the ones who lost their homes, comfort.

Thank goodness that fire is contained, and that your place was spared. My heart goes out to your neighbors who did lose their homes. Wildland fires are such a very scary thing, I used to be a vol. firefighter with a small dept. in central Or., you never knew what to expect, or when to expect it, it could turn on you in a moment. It certainly teaches all of us who live "in the woods" to do things a little differently. Hope you are resting easier!
