I think that's what's it's called (lol). I was going to make chocolates & do some crafts & need to do the double boiler thing and can't seem to find one in the stores: the one where the bottom pot has water and the top pot goes on top of that. Any suggestions of what to do in place of a double boiler when you need one for cooking or even crafts?

I use two pots, a small one go over the large one of simmering water. It has always worked just fine for me. That is why I never bothered to buy a double boiler.

Good luck finding a method that works for you.

I'm with Julie, I use a bowl that is big enough to sit just inside the pot of water.
