I agree...Sam Walton is rolling in his grave to see what his heirs are doing to the decent discount store he originally started.....shame isn't it? But I'm afraid it is a sign of the times and all that matters in retail is the bottom line.....'nuf said.

I work at a community college in Maryland and work with students who need disability support of all kinds. According to the 1973 American's with Disabilities Act, this is definitely discrimination
and could get WalMart in trouble. They can't just fire your son but will have to accomodate him in a position that will allow him to work dispite the fact that he is deaf. They knew when they hired him that he was deaf and it is their responsibility to met the challenge.
Hope this helps,

Bonnie

Wal-Mart is a terrible place. But, along the lines of his other degree my Daughter is also having a problem finding a job in that field. She graduated a year and a half ago and although she found a job right away she got laid off 6 months later and is now working part time in a pet store. I hope things get better for you son.

I work with DD and SN adults and I am appalled some days when I take them shopping and the people in line are rude when it takes then a few extra seconds to write out a check for the purchases. Is it not their right to live in the same world and to have independance. Some day those people might just need some help or become a bit slower. My prayers go out to you and your son. Hopefully some thing can be done with Wal-mart. I just hate that place. They come into small towns, wipe out the other competitors and we are left with just them.
