My dad makes these awesome sweet and hot refrigerator pickles. He makes a ton of them every year but they take up so much room in the fridge. I was wondering can I "can" them so they can sit on the shelf? I've never done pickles before, but I've canned plenty of other things. So his recipe would obviously be cold (because everything is already made up as of now)...is there a way I can can that?

You can probably can can them but it will change the pickles. Refridgerator pickles are tyically very crisp because they are not cooked. By canning them you will essentially be cooking them so they will get very soft. It will change the flavor of them as well.

Thanks for the information...that is what my dad was afraid of. I guess we will just keep a shelf reserved for them in the fridge!
