Hey ladies,
I've been putting up apple butter and have a wonderful recipe. If any of you are interested, let me know and I'll post it. We just finished putting up a little over 80 jars. My kids and husband love it. You can also use a chunkier version of it for a nice apple pie! I hope to use a certified kitchen next year and sell some. Hope your canning season is going well!

Hi Ashley, I would love the recipe. I made a few jars a few weeks back, but always love new recipes. Phyllis |

I love apple butter. Yum. I still have some from a few years ago though. My trees are full of apples.

oh I haven't had apple butter since my grandmother used to make it. Just the thought brings back wonderful memories.

Ok my sweet little farmgirls, here we go:)
Ashley's Spiced Apple Butter:
16 Cups of Apples 5 Cups Apple Juice (or cider) 1 Cup Apple Cider Vinegar 4 Cups of Sugar 1 teaspoon Allspice, ground 3/4 teaspoon Cloves, ground
In a large stockpot combine Apples, Apple Juice, and Apple Cider Vinegar. Bring to a boil on high heat. When boil reached reduce heat to medium, cover, and simmer for 30 minutes stirring about every 10 minutes.
When time is up add Sugar, Allspice, and Cloves. Mix well and reduce heat to LOW, simmer for 2 hours. Make sure for the last hour or so to stay close to your stove. It tends to stick to the bottom of the pot and if you don't catch it soon enough it will burn. If it does burn, take it off and can it for pork loin seasoning. ANYWAY...
Process in a water bath canner for 10 minutes. Makes about 6-7 pint jars.
Let me know if you all have any questions. I'd be more than happy to answer them.
Enjoy:)
