What a fun thread! Thanks gals!!
Here goes
Home: Presently a rambler, built in a energy effiecent design with passive solar heating, double insulation, arctic entrance... dream house, old farmhouse, light blue with white and cranberry trim...

Decorating: earthy, childrens art, photos, house plants, a guess a good mix of rustic and country farm-style. Alot of green, it is my favorite color..dark green, sage, etc.

Living: Laid back, natural, I like comfort in furniture, clothing, family and friends. My house is usually a mess, I have 4 kids and a house that is too small for all of our junk!! It isn't filthy or dirty, but just messy!! I am working on that one.

Personality: I have a good sense of humor, I try not to take things too seriously, I am nurturing, I try to be an advocate for those who can't speak for themselves...kids, animals, elderly etc. I am a glass half-full kind of gal. I am a survivor.

Clothing: earthy, flowy skirts, comfort is the most important thing for me...my mom says I dress like all of my clothes came from REI or a Grateful Dead head shop!! Birks, clogs, running shoes. I have my everyday Birks and my Sunday-go-to-meetin' Birks! I never wear makeup.

Garden: Drought tolerant plants, rocks, creeping thyme, a big beautiful sage brush in the front yard. Back yard has food and alot of yellow grass...here we only have culinary water and I refuse to waste it on grass!!

Attitude: Glass-half-full, I am optimistic, very laid back, probably to the point that high stress folks think I am flakey...I try to take life as it comes and see beauty in it all.

In a man: The one I've got, of course...Tall, dark, and handsome. Funny, a good provider, a hard worker, a nurturing Daddy to our 4 girls.

Hobby/Passions: reading, writing, knitting, cooking, hiking, camping... in no particular order.

How fun!!! let's hear some more

Okay, I am exhausted (see "Wish me luck" post...) but I've got to get in on this one too. Then it's bed.

HOME: Arts & Crafts, 1925 stucco with original hardwood everything, even my dream buffet in the red dining room with stained glass windows in art deco tulips above...
DECORATING: Comfortable, eclectic, you can throw yourself down in the big chair in the living room and stay for hours...
LIVING: like Frannie, "easy" - don't worry, be happy
PERSONALITY: love to laugh, love to talk, love to get people together, fun, strong, dive-in-it-won't-kill-me, dependable, practical, with a touch of a dreamer...
CLOTHING: Oh my gosh, exactly like Katiedid! And my mom says the same thing. Half of my clothes are from REI and the other half are leftovers from my hippie days in Northern Cali. I too, have everyday Birks and "nice" Birks (and about 10 other pairs of Birks that I never get around to wearing and wonder constantly why I bought them...)
GARDEN: small, practical, herbs and some wildflowers, have wildflower garden dream plan in my head...
ATTITUDE: Do unto others, the glass is half full, what can I make out of this (situation, fabric, story, garden...)?
IN A MAN: best friend, partner, soulmate. I found him.

Thanks for the fun questions! I love learning more about everyone in this way.

Catherine :)

I am surprized I never got around to doing this one...what fun!

HOME: old house (the original part over 100 years old) with peeling paint and lots of silly add ons but I love it
DECORATING: country comfortable
LIVING: laid back but busy with 4 kids still at home and three grown ones
PERSONALITY: positive, happy, klutzy, friendly and I THINK I am practical. I love people and invite people over alot, but I do need some quiet alone time everyday at some point. I don't sleep much.
CLOTHING: Jeans, tshirts and aprons or bib overalls. I have the home Birks and the dress up Birks too, and wear rubber Birk clogs for doing chores (If Mona steps on my foot in sandals it tends to hurt alot more!) I don't like to dress up but when I do it is something comfortable. I got rid of ALL shoes with heels except my cowboy boots when I turned 40. Life is too short to have foot pain!! only makeup I wear ever is mascara and eye liner pencil.
GARDEN: not as big this year..but compact and neat...LOTS of tomatoes and peppers like always and a little bit of every bit of everything else. Even okra this year..which I LOVE. flowers are herbs are all over, but a little herb garden out front too.
ATTITUDE: I think I have a positive attitude and Try to pass that along.
IN A MAN: Honesty, strength and cute...I got that in my husband. He is the best!
HOBBIES AND PASSIONS: Anything homemakerish, sewing, canning, cooking, gardening, knitting, needlework of any kind, animals, kids, I even like laundry and ironing.

Inside me there is a skinny woman crying to get out...but I can usually shut her up with cookies

This is fun.
Home- Traditional with shingle siding and a whale weathervane on top. I live on almost an acre, would love to live on a bigger piece of property. I can't have chickens where I live, neighborhood rules are against it. A big sadness for me.
Decorating- The Paris apartment met out of africa and stopped at the bordello on the way. Anything goes in my house. I have a bunch of old family stuff. When I travel I always drag something back. I brought an old angel that was the top of a doorway home from Brussels last year. I had to bribe the airline to let me check it in as luggage, it weighed 80 pounds.
Living- very casual. I love people, am a terrible house keeper. You can only be my friend if you don't mind moving the stack of magazine yourself to sit down.
personality- most people tell me I remind them of the old I love Lucy show. I'm always into something. I have a huge heart always try to find the best in people.
Garden- a work in progress. I love it rustic and wild. Never met a flower I did not like. Like antiques, the finding is something I love. Always taking a cutting of this or saving something that is going to be taken out of someone's yard.
Attitude- Upbeat most of the time. Very easy going.
In a man -I love my husband he can laugh at my antics, he is smart, big and hairy, brings me coffee in bed in the morning.

You only live once,if you do it right once is enough.

Frannie,

Judging by your eclectic clothing style, you would like hel-looks.com. It is a record of funky street fashion recorded in Helsinki, Finland. I know, that is about as far from farmgirl as you can get, but boy those kids (and some ahem, mature women) sure know how to put a funky outfit together, mostly from secondhand stuff. I look in occasionally to get inspired.

OK, here's one of Frannie's fun posts that I apparently missed! How'd THAT happen? I love reading everyone's answers...feels like I "know" you all! Thank you for sharing guys!

Here's mine...
People who meet me first and THEN see my home always seem to be surprised. I guess my home is my sanctuary...so it is homey, & old fashion. I guess I don't LOOK old fashion! LOL They expect...??? I'm not sure.

HOME & DECORATING: We live in a cape cod, big porches on front & back, twenty acres-surrounded by cornfields. It's decorated mostly in the primitive, colonial style with some funky art thrown in. Our bedroom & bath is "high victorian"...very dark, lots of florals, tassels, pillows. My studio is very light, a bit cottage. It's my alter ego space.
LIVING: We keep odd hours and there is usually loud music playing somewhere in the house. Sometimes live music-which we love. We have lots of company and lots of pets. Dogs are allowed on the furniture here. Our stuff is old, so a bump or scratch is considered "character". We like to garden, so we have fresh flowers & veggies in season. I like to cook & bake which my family of "men" loves! We all read alot & there are books in every room. We love to make big breakfasts on weekends & TALK & LAUGH!
PERSONALITY: I think most people would say I am kind and fun. I'm friendly. I DO love to visit & laugh. I can be totally silly or totally serious. I really enjoy young people, teenagers and college age "kids".
CLOTHING: I suppose I dress "younger" than I am. I lean towards t-shirts with crazy stuff on them and jeans, but I also like billowy skirts. I love crazy shoes. I can go from gypsy to punk rock momma depending on the day. I like rock star clothes and glitter! I love fun hair and will try pretty much any style/color. I have Hello Kitty everything (mostly gifts from my youth group girlies).
GARDEN: English with prissy flowers. My husband says I am a garden snob because I don't like orange or bright yellow flowers. I'm a pink & blue girl in the garden. I LOVE herby things & pretty foliage too.
ATTITUDE: Joyful with a capital J! I speak my mind-hopefully lovingly. You never have to guess what I think. I'm very compassionate. I got that from My Mother.
IN A MAN: Brilliant, kind, gentle, giving, witty & great sense of humor, tall/dark/handsome with blue, blue eyes (oops, just described my guy!)
Rhonda

...and I will sing at the top of my lungs, and I will dance, even if I'm the only one!

My style would be the hidden artist. If I could I would take pictures all day, paint, make things, etc. My husband says people don't know that I am a natural person, I'd rather have things from scratch, or my favorite thing to do would be to sit out under the stars. I guess since I can be out going people assume I prefer to be the life of a party but I'd rather stay home than go out.
That's a glimpse of me!

BUMP!!
We did this last year, but with so many new farmgals Jayne and I got to talking and she remembered it and we thought it would be neat to bump it up and learn more about all those that didn't get a chance the first (or second) time around. I can't wait!! And of course big hugz to Frannie who started it in the first place!!

This is fun! I love to read about other interests. MY HOME: townhouse, 20 years old, ok...not my dream home, but one I could afford. DECOR: country eclectic, with a touch of contempory...cozy, warm, enjoy walking in at the end of the day. There's a lot I'd like to have done, but $$ again. Two bedrooms, 2 1/2 baths...one bedroom not in use except for storing my out of control collecting! lol! Love houseplants (when I don't kill them) and a little touch of artsy and organic. HOBBIES: Collecting is #1. Right now vintage or antique cast iron cookware, yellowware, baskets, anything folky (folk art), antique playing marbles, hooked rugs...whatever strikes my fancy. Nothing fancy or victorian, just quirky, folky and fun. Primitive country furniture..2 pie safes, primitive cupboards, antique iron and brass bed with original worn white paint. A hugh antique tower clock face that I have hanging on one wall, and other smaller one at the foot of the stairway. That's some of the things which is subject to change. I've been collecting for 27 years. STATUS: Single, but if I were looking for a man in my life, he would have to be tolerant to my moods, be intelligent, and love me for my true self. Would be nice if he had an interest in collecting also and was handy around the house. PERSONALITY: Moody, but basically happy and a little shy. Can be a little sarcastic at times, but I like where I am in my life right now. CLOTHING STYLE: Casual, casual, casual. Blue jeans, tee shirts, polo shirts, comfortable shoes..UGG boots in winter, sandles, flip flops in summer. Used to be a real clothes horse in my younger years, but now I can't be bothered. HOBBIES PART 2: I forgot to mention gardening. Even though where I live, I don't really have land, I do plant flowers in the summer. Well, that's about it...that's enough! lol

LIVING: within our means and trying to keep it simple
PERSONALITY: creative, generous, dedicated, reserved
CLOTHING: thrift store fashionable, clunky boots, clogs or maryjanes (casual professional at work)
GARDEN: heirloom, medicinal, unique, romantic
ATTITUDE: peaceful, persevering, optimistic
IN A MAN: patient, thoughtful, loving, hard working, handsome - I am such a lucky girl

OK here's mine:

Decorating: hunter greens and purples/modern-updated even though we live in the country

Living: low maintenance (no cable or cell phone)but prefer state of the art tools in the kitchen, casual, somewhat organized chaos I can live with piles of "stuff" as long at it has its home and doesn't spread all over like say a counter I clean house when I feel like it or when company is expected Living on a dirt road makes me uninspired to clean all the time i'd rather be outside

Personality: introverted but love to dance and hang out with extroverts silly I'm a nature girl and not afraid of a little dirt I love to laugh and am pretty easy going with people I am comfortable around I love to surprize people and give especially when its unexpected. I am a dog person but will alwys have a cat in the house I love to cook-especially for others

Clothing: almost too casual I'm a jeans/t-shirt and Birkenstock kind of gal but I love to have someone else do my hair/make-up and spend a night on the town (occasionally)

Garden: starts out neat and weeded and needs bushogging by summer's end due to weed control burn-out

In a man; I'm a sucker for a Marine haircut but seriously, my husband is a Christian, 4th generation farmer, fun loving, has a great sense of humor and does his best to laugh me out of a bad mood likes to assist in the kitchen, supports my canning/jelly making and chicken hobby (he blew me away last year when he volunteered to put his half of our tax return $$ towards a really nice chicken coop...then proceeded to spend 3 weekends putting it together (I helped when I could and wasn't at work) Hubby is athletic and rides a bike every day. He has ridden 100 miles multiple times and cares about what goes into his body. We both enjoy a good beer or glass of wine together
He loves hanging out with my folks and brother more than his own (my folks are world travelers;Dad has been into professional pyrotechnics for over 40 years)....it's not every day you get a big time show right in your own field and put to music no less!

After being married to a real monster 9 years ago, this man I am now 7 years happily married to is the love of my life. We work at the same place and it's a real joy jov be able to spend quiet lunches together.

HOME: renting half a little yellow house with room for flowers out front. One day *keeping fingers crossed* hope to be in my Gram's 1830's georgian farmhouse.
DECORATING: uncluttered cottage (suits the yellow house) with quilts and white cupboards and baskets of sewing, but eventually aiming for casual english country manor with battered antiques, stacks of books and old oil paintings, jugs of flowers and wellies at the door.
LIVING: quiet and peaceful most of the time. I like to keep things tidy and neat and cosy. Sometimes we stay in bed til noon reading and eating cookies and tea. Sometimes we travel and have great adventures.
PERSONALITY: Practical romantic. Curious and creative. Old-fashioned.
CLOTHING: Skirts and sundresses, jeans and trousers. Collared shirts and cardigans. I don't own sweatshirts, sweatpants, tracksuits etc. I always like looking 'put together'. Oh!, and hats!
GARDEN: Old fashioned cottage flowers in overabundence if possible. Love the beauty of old established gardens.
ATTITUDE: positive and cheery, sometimes thoughtful and quiet.
IN A MAN: tall, kind, blonde, curious about the world, even-tempered, generous, makes me laugh, and loves me like crazy.
