Hey all you canning farmgirls...how about a jam and jelly swap! I have been reading all the posts in the canning section in the farmgirl kitchen and thought it would be fun to swap some jams.

Sign up here and post how many partners you want. Sign up until July 31st. I will then partner everyone up. We can send one jar of jam, jelly or preserves and include the recipe. It might even be fun to gussy up the jar! Let's not make this complicated...once you get your partner, you e-mail her with your name and address. You send her a jar and she sends you one.

Mailing would be the first week of August.

Partners:

Marjean (Marsha) and Kathyinozarks (Kathy) Sugar Free

Debbie Sue and Becky Scripter
PattiAnn and Chassen (Stephanie)
Texdane (Nicole) and Sarahpauline
LorieMarler and Dianaw1123 (Diana)
DebbieSue and Fiddlehead Farm (Diane)
SueFreely and TJinMT (TJ)

Onecraftybugger (Robin) and Justbe (Kris)
EastTXfarmgirl (Victoria) and PattiAnn
PattiAnn and AuntJenny
Merry and TeaPriestess (Dionne)
Justbe (Kris) and Fiddlehead Farm (Diane)

If I missed anyone, just e-mail me and let me know.
Partners should e-mail eachother and then go over specifics like what kind, size of jar, etc...
Shipping should be sometime in the next couple of weeks or as specified by your partner.

I'd love to sign up if someone makes sugar free jams and can send me that. I'll put sugar in the one I send. I'm new to making them too! Had to try it since I can't eat sugar.

I was thinking that mailing would be the first week of August. Marjean, can you have honey? I make a lot of my preserves with honey instead of sugar.

Hi Diane,
I can have agave but only a little. How much honey do you use? I'd only use 1/4 cup of agave for the whole batch. Can't do honey or anything other than agave at present.

That sounds doable, sign me up for two. Maybe we should do another one later in the season for pumpkin and apple butter...yummy!

I can do two but, they would be the same kind if that is ok. I have only made one kind but, I like the idea of doing one later in the fall also.

Delicia, that's fine. You will be swapping with two different farmgirls so it won't matter that they are the same kind. Glad to have you join the swap! I think I will do one in the fall for apple, pumpkin and squash!

Jenny has a good question, are we doing the little jelly jars or are we doing pint jars?

You can sign me up for two partners. My experience on mailing jars....is the pint jars get kind of pricey to mail. I just mailed a few. But I can both sizes, so it doesnt matter to me.

I am in the process of making some peach/rhubard preserves right now! I scored big a my local famer's market today and got 25 lbs of peaches for $35!!!! I put up 12 quarts of peaches in light honey syrup and now am making some preserves with whats left mixed with some of my home grown rhubarb! Tomorrow I am going to make a peach/rhubarb pie to take to my MIL for dinner.

Diane,
Please sign me up for one partner. Your Peach/Rhubarb Preserves sound wonderful! I just made some Strawberry-Thyme Jam and Vanilla-Plum Syrup yesterday. I plan on making some Red Onion Jam soon. Oh, would syrups count?

Sharon, I am sure that syrups are OK, that would be up to your swap partner. I made some strawberry preserves that came out more like syrup! LOL

Hey girls, I am worried about shipping jam in this heat. If the boxes are left out on a pallet in the heat in georgia they could pop their seals for sure.
