You Sisters have something going there with that saying.....I just might have that put on a big mug. "Proud to be Raggedy Ann in a Barbie World"....I like it. Better yet maybe I'll put it on a T-shirt.

This is too funny Raggedy Ann was always my favourite doll over Barbie, I am decidedly in the Raggedy Ann camp. I like dressing up but don't feel it necessary to have my assets hanging all over the place.

My daughter is 3 1/2 right now, it's hard finding something that isn't, how shall we say it, cheap looking. How short do shorts have to be?

Here Here Diane! I love finding those unique clothes that fit my style at thrift stores! Don't really care for the latest thing! I like my style...and don't want to pay an arm and a leg or two for it! I have also started sewing up my own skirts, pants, shorts...and have begun dresses! This way it fits me like I want it to and in the print that I actually like!!

This thread cheers me up every day. Women with unique styles have always been my heroes. My mom was renegade in the 1970's when she started wearing pant suits to teach in. She found them more modest and much warmer than dresses. Her at home style was always blue jeans. At eighty, she's still adorable in blue jeans. Suzanne

Hi, I told my husband about the Raggedy Ann in a Barbie doll world. He said, "Just remember, Raggedy Ann dolls are cuddly; Barbie dolls are not." I rather liked that. Suzanne

I love this post. I would be in the Raggedy Ann Camp

My DD who is 11 love to shop in thrift stores because she can find the older style cloths that see loves. Because in her own words "I don't want to look like a hoochie Mama."

what gets me is all the pants are cut below the waist so you have to constantly pull them up. I also cant understand these kids that go around dragging the pants all over the floor. When my dad was in the hospital there would be some nurses with pants cleaning to germs off the floor, wounder what they brought home to their wash machines.

LOL...Do these EARRINGS match the CHICKEN POOP on my shoes?

I wear those cheap but sturdy "crocs" knock offs around the field, can
get 'em wet or nasty and they rinse right off!
Jean cut-offs, baggy T's and tanks in this HOT weather!
A long sundress if it's REALLY hot like this past week,
the less fabric touching me the better!
A big floppy straw hat to polish it all off.

YOU GO FARMGIRL!

lol- cute thread!
I never thought of it that way- I definitely feel "raggedy ann" around those cute barbie types. I try to be cute in my own raggedy way, though. I dress up on occasion, but usually just a prairie type skirt, nice t-shirt, and flip flops .

I only shop good will and other thrifts for my clothes. I have found nice brands (Christopher Banks, JJill, cold water creek)- for a fraction of the cost and the clothes are nice quality- and not sleezy looking!

I've decided that I have to make some Raggedy Ann dolls. I enjoy dollmaking and these would be a grand addition to my gift giving and to my stitching room decor. Suzanne

My hubby and I went to get a load of square bales last week behind the tractor. I dressed for the job, long sleeves (93 degrees out) overalls, cowboy hat thats been thru the ringer and boots. He decides on the way to the field since the kids aren't with us lets eat at our favorite Chinese restaurant. Its rather nice and did I ever get stared at.

Coco Chanel always said that “Fashion fades, only style remains the same.” I guess farmgirls are just stylish! LOL I am definitely more like raggedy ann, than barbie. I didn't even like playing with barbie. I like to dress up, but I prefer classic clothes. I hate going to the store and seeing everything black, white, or khaki. I am too old to wear black. Black is for young, boring people who are trying to "fit in". I'll stand out in any crowd, thank you!

I spent the weekend helping my husband work on our garden shed -- I ended up with lots more bruises on my knees and shins to add to last week's crop. I bet Barbie never deals with bruised legs! I tried this weekend to keep them somewhat covered because when I didn't the first thing people wanted to know was what horrible thing I had gone through to get the bruises. I bruise super easy and always have -- probably a kind of Ragedy Ann thing from all my adventures and some clumsiness. Suzanne
