I must share my good news today with everyone. My mom was told 4 months ago that she has bone marrow cancer. Needless to say, it scared us to death. We have no history of this in my family and had no idea what would happen. Due to her age (75) and her heart condition, she was not recommended for kemo/radiation. They wanted to start her off on med's by mouth and another type of IV once a month at hospital. They could not say if they thought this would work but they had to try as they thought the other types would take a toll on her already unhealthy heart. Well, first month her cancer count went down some....next month none at all.....got a call today and the dr personally called to give her his "GOOD NEWS" he said for once. She has dropped 18 percent in the levels and he told her they were on the right track!!! She called me and was crying as she was so happy and then I started - it was great to cry some "good" tears for once with her. Please help me in praying that she will continue this progress!

Susie, I am so glad she had such good news. Those moms are sort of special, aren't they? I hope and pray she continues to improve and get over this soon.

Update on Mama.....after several appts this week, mamas cancer count continues to improve. She is still tired, weak and has lots of side effects but the count going down is such a blessing. I took her for a earing test yesterday and she is in the moderate to severe loss of her hearing, but we both almost fainted when we heard what hearing aids cost and that medicaid pays "zero" on them. She teasingly said that she guess we would all just have to start speaking up! Please continue to keep her in your prayers.

Susie, that is wonderful news! I am so happy for her. I hope the count keeps on improving. I have a good friend who is 93. She just recently got brand new hearing aids. $6,000.00 cash. I just about fell over when I saw her checkbook. I help her with paying bills. I was shocked. My hubby will just have to keep getting yelled at now. There is no way he will ever get any.
