Please pray for my niece, her children, her husband to be, her Mom and Dad. The Father of the children is threating her and her kids. He called at midnight and told her that he got custody. Then he called the kids later and told them they were coming to live with him forever. They were never married. He is seriously messed up and he has at least three other kids with other girls. He uses the court to harrass her. He lives in Ohio, they went to AZ three years ago. Please pray that this gets resolved and all involved can get some peace. My sister had a massive heart attack at 52 and this was a factor in this. This has cost thousands of dollars.

Hi Amy, I have been in a similar situation and it is very difficult. My heart goes out to you and your family. It has been 11 years since my mess started and the only thing I kept in my mind all those years was keeping my children safe. I'm not sure how it works in your state but everytime my ex would pull something I would document every detail and when he played mind games or otherwise directly involving the kids I would report it to the police or the Ministry for children and families (that's what it is called here) that way there is paper trail to take to court if need be. I reported everything to the schools they were in as well so they were aware. There are restraining orders and charges for harassment and all kinds of avenues but it is difficult. Safety of the children is no 1. Good luck and I hope you find peace. Bullies eventually move on but it can take a long time.

Amy, that is so scary. I will pray for protection for her and her children. I don't know why people act like this. Especially with kids involved. They probably don't hardly even know him.

I know someone that went thru this kinda hell also. Her ex was threatening to kill her in front of the children, and kill her parents also. He would drive by the house all the time and scare everyone to death, restaining orders are only as good, as the speed of the cops getting there. She getting ready to flee again, ( she had done it before and he found her), when a friend showed up with an Anatolian Shepard, they are fierce guardian dogs, over a hundred pounds, and WILL give up their lives to protect, they do not accept food from strangers naturaly, so they can't be easily poisened. The next time he showed up, the dog flattened him on the ground while holding his throat in his mouth til the cops got there, they never heard from him again, even when he got out of jail, and its been several years now.

So sorry to hear that :0( I hope that he leaves her alone. I also hope she documents everything that he says in the event that one day she will need it. Some people just live to cause problems for others. I really feel so sorry for the kids. That is so terribly sad.

Thoughts and prayers are coming your way. I worked with people in this same situation for 8 years (just recently changed jobs). I may have some resources if you need them. I don't want to turn on "advocate" mode but if you need to talk or need resources, I'm here.

Just a quick update. The Father showed up at 5:00 in the morning and banged on the doors and windows. When my niece openned the door he stuck a paper in her face and said that they are mine now. She let him take them. She didn't call the police because she claims that she didn't want to scare the kids. He has them.

How can he take the kids out of state, I thought they had to stay where ever the court orders were written up by the court and the judge had to ok them going to another state and the other parent. My prayers go out to you all, and prays and concerns for the safety of the children.

Prayers are on the way, for the physical and emotional safety of the kids and your daughter dealing with the situation, and for you too.
Appearing at 5 am and waking the kids to take them is bizarre behavior. I don't see how he sould get custody without her knowledge. Don't let her be bullied into accepting this. She will need to follow legal channels but she needs to do something soon.

The legal system in Trumbull County in northeastern Ohio is a joke. This is been going on for three years. She has never seen a legal document. They were never married, and he rarely pays child support.
