This summer the kids and I have decided Wednesday is our day in the mountains. We pack water and food, tie our boots, and head for the hills! We have had so much fun. We have learned about native birds and plants, fish and wildlife. I love watching the kids explore our natural world and feed their imaginations from our beautiful Mother Earth. If any of you gals live near wild spaces I highly recommend a day in the wild!

I love doing this too. My kids are all fairly young still (all under 8) but they love exploring. The favorite activity of today was popping the seeds on the jewelweed plants...my older 2 made "explosion" noises when they did them and it was like a treasure hunt. Very cool. I love being outside as well and the more laundry to do at the end of the day, the better the hike was imho. ;)

Hi, there, Kate! I love the idea of "Wild Wednesdays!" I think we might do something like that down here, too. That is so awesome - I can just picture how much fun you all have. Those girls are so darling, anyway. Way to go!!!
