If I could only pick one, I would be agreeing with Siobhan, it would have to be cilantro..., I use it in everything, lol.

ooh.. Good question! I would have to say mint. No, change that, I'd bring lavender. Wait, chives. Ok, ok, I've got it!! I would have to agree with Melody. I'm going with basil! 1 small sniff, and I've got a hankering for fresh tomatoes, mozzarella, and delicious basil!! YUM!!

Basil! I do love my basil....put it on everything. I really love it fresh from my garden on my salad.

Oh yes definitely basil!!! I love pesto too! And fresh tomatoes, fresh mozzarella and lots of basil on top. One of my grand daughters accidentally pulled one of my basil plants in my garden this afternoon, was so sad, thought I was going to cry. :( Luckily, I have more just waiting to be put in the ground!!!

.. a horrible recipe for those who LOVE pesto... its horrible because it is so sinfully mouth watering yumminess!... soften a package of cream cheese... sorry but I do it in a micro... warm it up so it is soft and creamy, add in pesto, to your desired taste. whip it all together so it is creamy and foamish... use it on yummy crackers or bagel chips! or celery sticks.. you get the idea. I promise you'll love this concoction!
my choice of herb would have to be Coriander/ Cilantro.

Is garlic an herb? If it is, then definitely garlic. I can eat it plain if it's roasted! If it's not, then rosemary. I use both for meat, veges, and even jellies!

Yes, Melody, basil!
But,... I would want the three varieties I've grown: lemon basil, cinnamon basil and regular.
Lavender or chamomile would be a close second. I love my calming herbs!

Well, first I thought rosemary but it would have to be mint. For tea, of course, and mojitos.

In our colder north, I often have short lived growth with basil. What is hardy here, and I use for many things, is lemon thyme...tea, vinegrette, marinade for chicken etc... of course you didn't go into the climate on that island. ;0)

That's really a tough question. I can't imagine living without chives, sage and thyme. Why comfrey? I'm really curious about that one. |
