Well I am back in town, child off to college, life is back to normal..... still have not heard anything from our lost quilters. I am going to send back the blocks that I have. I was hoping that during the extra week something would have arrived at my house. Everyone will be getting two of their blocks back, plus the other blocks, and your fatquarter swap. My goal is to get to the post office by saturday. Let me know when you have received them!! Thanks, Barbara

Just a suggestion -- instead of sending us 2 of our own blocks back, give us one of someone elses block. That way we won't have 3 of our own in the quilt.

I can't hardly wait to see the blocks and you will all have to keep checking the forum. Antoinette is going to post pics of our finished quilts from the red and white swap. Wait till you see the quilts. They are gorgeous.

Nettie I just took a look at the posting of the red and white block quilts. They are both gorgeous! I haven't had time to finish my red and white quilt yet. I decided to use blocks from both quilts to make a large quilt. I always slow down when it comes to the quilting part! LOL

I just got my blocks back and they are all amazing! You gals did some real special work here and it will be a delight to put these together. Thanks again Barbara for hosting this swap!! I have SO much to do today after losing most all of yesterday to a *horrid* bout of migraine, but all I want to do is sit here and plan out the quilt this one day will be LOL.

I just got the blocks from the postman! I'm in love with them all!!!! I do want to let ya guys know though that on the paper you'll see "Simplefancies" and then a description and then "Celticheart" and a description. What is described after both our names are reversed. :-) Oh they are all so lovely!!!
Barbara, thank you so much for the little treat, thank you for the description letter and thank you for hosting this swap.

Sorry about the mix-up with the description......I was trying to put everything together and my "lovely" cat was in the mix. I was trying to make sure that everyone got the right combination. Oh my cat loved everyones blocks. She will not sit on a bad combination...LOL. Glad to hear that blocks are returning to their new home. I have my red and white top together - not quilted. I love to piece the blocks in the summer but it is to hot to quilt, even machine quilting. Not sure what my plans are yet for my stars - but have started thinking about them :) Lets keep on posting about our progress. I really enjoyed this swap, Barbara

Sorry I'm so late getting on here to say a big Thank You!! The blocks are wonderful. Denise, you and I must have the same quilt book. Never thought we would end up with 2 of those. I feel sorry for the ones who missed out, this is one I would not have wanted to miss. Thanks Barbara!

I am so glad everyone loves their blocks. We need to think about what we want to do next. Everyone look at their stash and see what we can come up with. Think about size and color first then theme. I think posting pictures might get more girls involved:) Well off to play with my star blocks, Barbara

Anyone up for using batik fabric's and some sort of feathered block? I was thinking 10inch finished/ 10 1/2 unfinished size works nicely.

Like a feathered star of some kind? That would be pretty.

Can you post a couple links to an example of what you're meaning for feathered? I'm clueless. Thanks.

simplefancies go to google and type feather star patterns then don't hit enter - hit images next to the word web. You can see tons of feathered stars. Then each image will send you to a link. They look scary but if you are interested I will find a simple pattern for you. Hope this helps let me know, Barbara
